  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    EREV initial release only?

This is true, but I don’t consider them trims as much because when I hear the word trim in association to a vehicle, the majority of my experience has been with Chevrolet and Dodge where in some cases the vehicles are identical with just one little thing here and there, but that cost thousands...

    Define your lifestyle….

I'm a 28YO (almost 29) Freelancer. I've done graphic design for a video game and worked as an admin on a server for said game for a while. After moving back to Tennessee, I worked for a company contracted by Amazon and drove the vans, and while I already enjoyed driving, I fell in love with...

    EREV initial release only?

I don't specifically myself, I've only ever bought used, this will be a first for me, however, I know the first year of Silverado EVs you could buy a WT variant, or an RST "First Year" which was the "everything plus the kitchen sink" model, but Scout is offering two models, each with two...

    EREV initial release only?

Which is fair, but I'm also assuming that the launch trim remains an option (it might get renamed though) for all reservation holders, so nobody feels like they missed out when they had no say in their place in line. Though I suppose if they cycle through all reservation holders once, and they...

    EREV initial release only?

I have another question, somewhat directed at Scout, but also just in general. If Scout takes, let's say, 2 years to deliver all of its reservations, at what point do they stop being "launch editions"? Is it once there's another "trim" option after the "launch trim"? (and assuming the launch...

    EREV initial release only?

I know you probably can't say, but I can still ask. By "trims," do you mean things like interior styles, and other factory-only features (paints, decals, and the like) or do you mean things that might come later down the line, like accessories? Stuff that could be bought from Scout and added...

    EREV initial release only?

I feel it's reasonable to say most of us completely understand where all this is coming from and that there's still plenty of time between now and a concrete plan. However, I have one question. Would Scout ramp up production and make more EREVs than it needs to start "flooding the market", or...

    EREV initial release only?

I went back and rewatched the Jay Leno video on Scout, and I think I've narrowed down what's been bothering me about the press side of things with Scout. I'm clearly far more interested in BEV over EREV, but it seems like there's a preference to talk about the harvester model, which I do...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

The thing I keep coming back to is at least for this year if you wanted a slate with an SUV package and the max range battery you would probably still be at a better price point with a better range to get the new Chevrolet Bolt. It is a small SUV with all the buildings and whistles and better...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Lots of buzz words that sound good, but when you sit down and look at more info from other places, slate is a pure gimmick

    EREV initial release only?

It would be nice for Scout to provide a deeper clarifying statement in regards to their potential plans going forward, but it’s still early with many things going on in the background and it is very easy for publications to take one statement made by one person and run it many different ways...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It’s because they can taste the markups, they don’t like EVs but they know scout will sell even if they overpriced them, and many people would line up since they were announced at a fairly reasonable price all things considered
  13. RodorW

    EREV initial release only?

They are probably planning to start with the traveler and while the initial builds will probably be higher percentage towards EREV there will be BEV‘s built that I would imagine that the decision maker in hell the factory will truly operate while they are working on delivering reservations will...

    EREV initial release only?

I’ve lost 10 grand on digital assets I can no longer use, I could withstand a grand or two even if I decided to buy elsewhere and atleast, let’s say half, would be refundable
  15. RodorW

    EREV initial release only?

🤓 I’ve got the solution! Add a $500-$1000 additional deposit that might not be refundable, this tells scout who’s actually interested and plans to convert! Now while I’m joking, I’d totally do it

    Initial Production Release

The only takeaway after today is that the traveler will likely be the first wave out of the factory

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I attempted to find the quote from the podcast, but I don’t have time to sit through the entire thing again tonight to pull the quote but the gist I got was (at least from Jamie in this instance) the EREV and BEV are not considered different “models” because if I’m not mistaken, there was...

  19. RodorW

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

exactly what I was thinking after the podcast, which I think is very reasonable, I would struggle with my patience if they launch the Terra without BEV but I don’t see that happening

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I feel like it’s a misinterpretation of something similar to what Jamie said in that podcast, something along the lines of one model will come first, in reference to Traveler v Terra but not necessarily the powertrain. Because the traveler is clearly the popular of the two.
