  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

I’ve never been overly concerned with the environmental stuff I do care and I know enough to tell people when they ask because a lot of people do but nothing can beat the convenience of pulling into the garage plugging in in the car, being ready to go in the morning and no longer having to go...

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

This is roughly what I paid after driving from about 80 to 10% every day in December charging at the end of every day that’s roughly 160 miles a day in my charger I could get about 400 and some odd miles if I’m being generous each time to fill from empty cost about $60 and would have to refill...

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

Though I do think it’ll be interesting to see the numbers after scouts release and someone gets a harvester and a all electric model and compares the difference in charging at home on all electric and charging with just using the gas generator and what the difference in cost there will be cause...

I also feel I should add my math is 0 to 100% on the Rivian every day and half a full tank of gas from 0 to 100 in the charger twice a week I feel like I’m being very generous to the thirsty charger

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

I’m not directing this to anyone specifically, but after doing some back of the napkin mask using 90% home charging compared to the most average gas price around me a Rivian R1 quad with a large pack compared to my V8 charger for one month being generous with the amount of times I had to go to...

I don’t think I could ever I was tempted to add the aftermarket driving assistant. I forget what it’s called but my Bolt accepts it but I can’t even be bothered with adding a mount to put my phone on. I don’t like putting things in my car like that specially if they have to be wired in anyway...

Exactly I can live without it myself, but if someone who uses my GPS 90% of the day, I wouldn’t mind having my directions right in front of me while I’m looking down the road

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

I still like the idea of the BUZZ though as a minivan or a people mover it is woolly low on range, but I have heard that if you drive them right, they do pretty good though. It also depends on where you live one of my friends is still considering one as a group travel vehicle if he can get one...

Well, here’s what I can say for a HUD from my personal experiences preferences and that is I’ve been told to slow down many times in school zones because when I’m in a school zone, I prefer to keep my eyes up on the road and my surroundings because I have a lot better reaction time at what feels...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

My family is largely mechanics, they love to own and drive dodge, but won’t work on them or anything under the same umbrella, I had a 200 and my uncle refused to even change the battery on it for my mother, it’s got a cracked speed sensor and constantly throws ABS but well, the car is no longer...

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

Hopefully they come back with a better battery and range offering but the dealers will still screw things up, another friend of mine wants one still once they come back but he drives a small car now and I pointed him towards Tello, and I kinda hope he goes that direction, dealers need to be put...

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

They’ve been getting a little more popular around here. And they’re usually the bright vibrant colors, yellow blue I’ve seen red I’ve seen one that was gray and white, which I think was also a big issue with these cars if I remember correctly, where Volkswagen was having to subsidize dealers to...

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

I’ve seen a bunch of people wear their keys lanyards and I used to have a keychain with a lanyard that I had anchored to my pocket but after having a “keyless” car I don’t carry any keys anymore. I keep a set of emergency keys in my everyday bag which has just been kept in the back of my car but...

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

Yeah, I had a friend who went and bought a new car at the beginning of 2025 and he was considering a green and white buzz but for the same price he was able to get a fully loaded VW sedan. I don’t remember which one it was but it’s a very nice car if they hadn’t had such a ridiculous markup on...

I like it, but I do hope scout has options that won’t require it to carried all the time, it’s hard finding clothes with small pockets to reliably store a single key

I wouldn’t say the Buzz is dead, it’s current configurations don’t work as well in the US, so it taking a break brim our market, but has been decently received elsewhere

We had mine intrest in Fords small EV truck after the maverick and the lightning, and even though my F150 isn’t going anywhere I’ve never been big on ford, but this just added one more notch in the Prius column for my partner. Though it was interesting to see the repair on J.R.Es cyber truck

    Regenerative braking

Older GM EVs had a single paddle ROD (Regen On Demand) it was even in the the first editions of the Silverado EV personally from my GM experience. I do prefer having a button to change one pedal from off to on and then a paddle for when I need it to be stronger

    Regenerative braking

I think it really is as I stated above it varies on driving style. I’ve never made someone that I know has motion sickness feel sick in my car because generally, I’m smooth in my release of the accelerator in one pedal and even if I take my foot fully off the car has a decent decline in speed...
