  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Solar Charging

Averaging 300 miles/week. Not too concerned about long trips. Usually planned in advance. Inverters have improved in the last ten years. And the prices have come down. May look into the Emporia Pro Charger for the house. If the 240 circuit is just for charging outside may be ok. Hot summers...

    Solar Charging

House is AC/DC. 120AC, 48DC. 2-4000 watt inverters. I have 14- 330w panels available. House is now running on 16-420w. Need to be a standalone system. We have 48 volt plugs throughout the house. No 240v as we used 20 amp 240v plugs for the 48v to meet code. Will not do that again. Higher...

    Solar Charging

I am all for a BEV. Home is off grid. Do not have enough reserve power to charge an EV when the outside air temps are over 100. Would like to set up a separate system. Can’t seem to wrap my head around it. Want the system as simple as possible (cheap). Ideally Solar panels and a charge...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Not exactly like I remember. But you get the idea.

I chose color choices some time back. First choice though would be, White with gold strips.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Bad sensors can also be a nightmare to trace. When there is more than one sensor in the circuit is worse.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Some good points made. We drive a 2016 Jeep Patriot. It was the least complicated vehicle we could fine that met our needs. It does have power windows. Unfortunately it’s not going to make it to 2028-29. All kind of sensors giving up the ghost. Least complicated must also mean cheaply made...

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

Well, you're right. There is rubber pad on the left side. Will have to try it out.

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

Learn something new every day. Now that I know what a dead pedal is. I still don’t understand the reason for it. What have folks that drive an automatic been doing with their left foot all of these years? Especially since they put the dimmer switch on the stalk.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Good points. I have hay fields 13 miles from home. If I am lucky it takes 4-5 working days. Shot my dream down. Now back to the real world.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Well now you have me dreaming out loud. Run a IH 656 Hydro. All I would need is an electric motor to run the hydraulic pumps.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

JD had one in the oven. Case/IH has or had the Farmall 75C. Which would meet my requirements. May have to look into the electric tractor again

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I am going on a bad memory, or I have bought too many tires. But thinking the Traveler in 1976 ran G or H78x15. Which would be under 29 inches. We just need to find 4 inches? The SM Traveler is a little larger Thanks for the pictures. Like the old scouts. But the Traveler had a longer wheel...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Spare tire has been beat to death. Figured one more good kick won’t hurt anything. Would prefer it wasn’t mounted on the tail gate. Agree with the reason’s previously stated. But don’t want it mounted underneath either. Crawling in the mud to get the spare doesn’t sound like fun. The frunk is an...

Current EV owners…are you staying BEV or switching to Harvester?

Thanks for clarifying how mileage is calculated. Sounds a little more doable. Won’t comment on the weather, only to say it was in the low 70’s yesterday and today it’s not.

Current EV owners…are you staying BEV or switching to Harvester?

Live in a weak area of Texas as well. Never can tell, but do not see it getting better. Nearest gas station is 25 minutes. We always fill the tank before heading home. Been keeping track of my local travels. 350 range works with a comfortable reserve. Less would be less so. Another issue. Not...

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

No wood. Had an AM Eagle. Took all of the wood grain off. Kind of a pain. But it looked much better. Prefer it trimmed out to match the rest of the interior. The pictures of the Traveler I have seen, it would be challenging to change. A rattle can would be easiest. But would try to found some...

Second that. Good information from all. Never would have considered BEV. Now it is a consideration
