  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I hope to see one light color that's actually a color - e.g. Elk, Buckskin, Siam Yellow, plus one other that doesn't quite come to mind...

Taking bets on the new color of the Traveler Concept to be seen soon...

Real hardwood paneling on exterior of side doors + plaid seats. Would be stunning.

Taking bets on the new color of the Traveler Concept to be seen soon...

Personally I'd like to see ~Elk-Buckskin-Siam Yellow, but likely too geriatric generic for revised concept. Clearly the secret is real hardwood paneling on exterior of side doors.

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

Clearly you've missed the most obvious accessory - what gives?

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

    Looking forward to seeing it!

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

Thanks - certainly looks cleaner than my thumb-on-screen.

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

Got it, thanks for insight. Does that explain why we've not seen Traveler concept w/out spare tire carrier? Its literally a permanent attachment that can't be uninstalled? It gets different opinions here - some want it, others want to avoid it. Maybe your photoshop guy could work something...

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

Yeah that's it - that 85% accuracy going higher or lower? All this reminds me of that game Toyota plays at car shows -

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

OK fine I’ve rephrased my prior statement to accommodate the sensitive - but what sparked it is still unclear, at least to me - Are concepts being revised for changes that won’t reach production? Making their representational % lower? I’d like to see more real-world clues, not reduce...

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

What does this mean? Revamped concepts are "SUPER cool" but don't reflect high-cost production changes? So at this point, who cares about revising the concepts as actual production slowly approaches?

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

My impression of the industry is that sometimes (often?) the production models are mostly done first, later tarted-up for initial public concept, and then perhaps refined a bit after feedback. For example, XC90 SPA1 for MY16 was clearly locked before Volvo's 2013-14 concepts; XC60 came later...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I just updated the green RSX - now the comparison is just a bit worse.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

RSX seemed fine but didn't think much of radical yellow, so I asked ChatGPT to prep an image in a more mainstream color - green. Now I can't unsee this -

    Must haves to purchase…

Well its a smaller two row vs. Traveler, I think 190" will fit a tall guy better than 185". And R2 has the tappity-tap-tap touchscreen dash, so no interest. Zero.

    Must haves to purchase…

My use case is much more Rivian, but I'd prefer Traveler as larger two-row w/ retro-modern styling and physical switchgear. But I certainly don't need a body-on-frame offroader. So looking for a (non-poverty) spec w/ on-road bias, all-weather 3PMSF tires, maybe a stiffer (steel) suspension...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Yeah that's why I included that random law firm link - "Volkswagen even concluded in a 1977 study that amber rear signals are more effective" Since red turn signals don't meet Scout's criteria "If it doesn’t make the drive better, it doesn’t make the cut," I'm hoping they'll default to safer.

    Traveler 2.0?

Looking at old color chips, hoping that color that's light but not white is offered - e.g. Elk, Buckskin, Siam Yellow.

    Driver Legroom

How tall is CEO Scott Keogh? I bet he directed those seats be locked down to fit him. Yeah I really doubt seats move on those flashy rails, thinking controls are just a mock-up that breaks if you're too rough with them -

    Driver Legroom

I suspect those seats don’t move.
