  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Package options - what would you like bundled?

Jamie, if you do put a sun glass storage area there I would support that idea. I encountered an interesting issue with storing my prescription glasses (sun and regular) in Ford's overhead sun glass holder. Sometimes daytime ambient temps will heat the roof up so much that the heat inside the sun...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

I’d love for $60,000 to be the price for a decently equipped model but I don’t see that being realistic. I see the $60,000 price as the base model price. Now what will come on a base model, we have to wait and see. The concepts we’ve been seeing I feel will sticker in the neighborhood of...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

I get that angle... but the size of the Traveler and the Terra pit them more as direct competitors to the F150 and the Ford Expedition (non Max). The base Expedition Active trim rings in around $63,000 now for 2026 and has cloth seating. And yes you can get an expedition with only two rows of...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

Actually yes... Just priced out a Ford F150 XL super crew pickup. Rings in at roughly $54,000 with the only options being the 3.5L ecoboost engine and electronically locking 3.55 rear end (total add on are roughly ~$3,000)... I have this exact truck as a work vehicle with the power boost which...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

package wise I'd like something very similar to what ford had with the first three years (2018-2020) of the 4th gen Expedition. Came on the XLT trim called the 202A package. 202A included -heated steering wheel -heated/cooled seats -leather seating -8 way power adjusted seating for driver and...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

Also your jeep might have heated mirrors but it's not prominently displayed as an icon. Sometimes the heated mirrors are tied in with the rear window defroster so when you select rear window defrost you also are selecting to heat the mirrors as well. This is how ford does it and from what I've...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

for areas where there are rapid temperature changes in short time spans (think rapid elevation changes) yes heated mirrors are necessary. the change in temps coupled with changes in humidity levels can rapidly fog a mirror up and cause issues. I live in the foot hills of the Appalachians and...

    Size comparison

Cypress Gray is the color I believe. Had it on a rental last year and really admired it. It's flashy, perhaps a little understated but it really sparkles in the sunlight.

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

Same… Unfortunately no matter what happens I’m still on the clock and have to be working… something something about being essential 🤷‍♂️

AC Vent in Rear Cargo Area of the Traveler

A frunk option would be interesting as well. I think some people may be getting hung up on the roof. While my expedition has the vents in the roof, my original post indicated the need for rear cargo area ventilation in general with location TBD (wherever it made the most sense/least amount of...

AC Vent in Rear Cargo Area of the Traveler

Just watched the review of the prototype R2 from out of spec reviews and the folks over at Rivian indicated that there were going to be vents in the rear and the prototype indeed had what appeared to be vents in the cargo area on the side quarter panel plastics… If the design team at Rivian...

What will you typical cargo look like in your Scout?

Hazmat response pack out, clothes bag, and three large dogs… if my gear isn’t stored in a work vehicle it’s in the office equipment room or in my personal vehicle. The dogs constantly travel with my wife and I to fun places and we either take her vehicle or mine for more room… Also there are...

What government and private sectors could you see Scout being successful in commercially? (Police, military, S&R, Delivery, etc)

First step would be to become a registered manufacturer with SAM.gov. Once an approved manufacturer Scout would be eligible to be listed with GSA and sell vehicles to many government agencies. The agency’s can/would request any needed modifications through GSA during purchasing or after...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

the green I could do without, the full sun photos really bring out the 70s style green and it’s just not working for me… Like the almost flush with the body front and rear bumpers. Like that there are recovery points on both the front and rear. I see there’s a knockout plate for a hitch on...

    Factory window tint

I think this is an option best left to the end consumer. However that doesn’t mean that there isn’t the possibility for partnering with a large national company that does tint… it would be much like a dealer add-on done after vehicle delivery. Either way the best tint is a ceramic, to keep temps...

What trim levels would you like to see at launch?

Would like a trim that has -pleather/vinyl seating for easy cleaning (pets) but the shoulder bolsters could be a retro patterned fabric. -a floor that is carpet free, perhaps some sort of rubber matting for easy cleaning -no fabric on the backs of the seats to keep pet hair from sticking...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

The reuse of such properties and the regulations around reuse is state specific. Generally speaking though if there are records that the tanks have been removed or abandoned in place, the property can be resold although it may have a restriction on the type of reuse, such as...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Not that easy to shut that down using the federal EPA, the EPA, from an emergency response standpoint, is not likely to entertain this as it's not a hazardous substance, oil, or pollutant. This is best handled through your municipality/burrow's building inspectors and your states environmental...

    Dual Port Charging

The principle is great for fleet users and the off chance you need to help a stranded motorist. Think of it like lending someone five gallons of gas. Now using the system as away to publicly charge vehicles, no I’m not fond of that use case.
