  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Stopped at this rest stop 2 weeks ago and noticed the chargers. Didn't realize they had just been turned on. Here’s where all the new chargers using round one of NEVI funding in PA will be located...

    Happy Holidays!

You can, no one is stopping you. But we all should be cognizant that there are many religious celebrations that occur around this time of year. We should all be thankful to have the ability to be considering the purchase of a new vehicle and have the means to connect with this forum community...

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

Here are my thoughts after one month of EV ownership... I'm not likely to go back to ICE vehicles... that's it, this is my thought... Okay joking aside, it's been a very pleasant experience. My wife and I have learned a lot in a very short period of time... We'd spent over a year toying with...

Show us your holiday spirit and/or Xmas tree

Thankfully, no lol. They were more interested in being fed breakfast and being let outside. They do wake us up, if we sleep in, when they believe it’s feeding time.

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

No malice taken! I grew up with numerous GM and Ford vehicles in the household, heck even a Saab (GM ownership years). They all had their quirks and issues at some point. We were an all Ford family until this Equinox. In my opinion, currently the value or bang-for-your-buck is with the Chevy...

I made sure to add a fabric weed barrier underneath as well... It's a constant battle every year killing the grass/weeds that take root in my gravel.

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

5 tons of 2A gravel later and several passes with a plate compactor, the driveway has been extended and fortified for this heavy EV… I spread it out by hand first and I found I’m not in the shape I used to be… I will say when we got the Equinox cleaned up yesterday people were stopping us to...

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

the cover would go with us, if we were to take the EV on a long road trip into a cold weather area. Wouldn't be needed at fast chargers but I could see using it at overnight destination style chargers.

The charging cover came in last week. We’ve been using it for about a week now. It’s not quite on perfectly but it gives everyone an idea on how it’s supposed to look. Covers the door and the entire charging port. Quick release Velcro makes taking it off a very quick process. While this...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

Wonder if there's an opportunity for Scout to offer a factory coilover setup vs. the standard coil over fixed strut setup that comes on a most new IFS vehicles... I really dislike the disassembly process when replacing/upgrading from factory struts to new aftermarket adjustable or OEM struts...

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

I'll do a one month write-up next week but so far the car has been solid. The transition to a full EV has been relatively painless. Concerns regarding range have basically vanished, never once have we had to use a fast charger during normal day-to-day activities.

Much cheaper than the OEM versions that are cased in plastic (A2Z is aluminum cased) and made by Lectron. You can buy Lectron adapters cheaper than OEM too.

For both adapters it came out to $285 dollars and this included shipping and taxes.

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

The NACS adapters finally arrived. A2Z J1772 and CCS adapters. Initial assessment is that these are very nicely weighted and appear to be good quality. So far 100% of charging has been completed at home but these adapters will prepare us for any eventuality. Sort of like making sure you have...

One man and his trusty shovel… Every time I feel like I don’t need to invest in a snow blower, Mother Nature reminds me to reconsider… ❄️😮‍💨 I recall a teaser image of a plow on a Scout… think I might splurge for that option…

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

Spent a month in Altadena for wildfire hazardous materials recovery, earlier this year. The scenery and landscape is absolutely beautiful. Even through the destruction you could tell how beautiful it once was and will be again.

Moving south is part of my longer term goal! 😂 I’m originally from VA with mild winters but had to move to PA for work several years ago. Living somewhere in SC would be nice eventually.

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

The dish towel protected the charge port and hinge but I still had to scrape the ice buildup off the door surround and body to get the charge door to shut properly, this morning. Really can’t wait for the cover to arrive so the whole area can be protected! Ideally this issue is something OEMs...
