  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

Hyundai/Kia does this. Can't say I've seen this in the Equinox... I'll look this evening to see if there's a display that shows these estimates.

    Jeep Recon

That’s the trade off… boxy vehicles tend to have a higher coefficient of drag. Add in H/T tires and you lose efficiency. I see a lot of similarities in the packaging of this vs the Scout Traveler prototypes we’ve seen. The Recon is smaller of course but it has good usable space… just not a lot...

Take a look at this Site, shows all current DCFC sites including level 2 locations. Plug share allows you to filter by charging speed and connection CCS1, NACS, etc. https://www.plugshare.com/

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

This brings up a good point, I have multiple fuel station apps to get discounts too... Every brand has their own app and I'm gonna use them to save $0.03 a gallon!

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

Most of the DCFCs along major highway corridors have cc readers. You don’t necessarily need an app to use most of them. A lot of vehicles now support plug and charge where you don’t have to do anything but plug-in and charge. As we get closer to Scouts being available more and more charging...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

In section 4.1 of the paper it shows just the EVSE the meter collar and the vehicle. Seems like it can operate minus their battery storage system. Section 4.2 lays out the integrated energy system with their batteries. I don't have solar or battery backup systems so using only the vehicle would...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

For V2H charges it looks like: GM has its own proprietary system Ford has its own proprietary system Tesla Cybertruck has its own proprietary system Kia/Hyunda appear to be working with Wallbox and Wallbox says it's system will be able to work with other V2H capable vehicles in the future...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

In the video for the SigEnergy you can see the cybertruck pull energy first before it's tricked into allowing its battery to be discharged... Wonder how their system is fooling the vehicles software. It does appear to be using the DC pins to pull power.

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

Took a look at the vehicles they say they've been able to discharge and there appear to be no GM vehicles. Not sure if that's because they haven't tried on one or if GMs software won't allow it to be discharged.

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

Nice write-up. Didn't realize almost the entirety of the Cadillac lineup had V2H capability. Forgot about the Tesla but there's not many of the out on the road.

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

Space is right, I just rechecked the Ioniq 5's stats. It has V2L but not V2H capability. It can output roughly 3.6kW. I believe the only V2H capable vehicles on the road are the GM EV truck twins, the ford F150 lightning, and the Cadillac Escalade IQ. GM has a special charger for their V2H...

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

Yes, that is correct. This will only work if the vehicle is capable of that. I believe the Ioniq 5 from model year 2025+ has such capability.

That's a shame. I just checked their webpage and they have a bidirectional charger coming soon... Looks like they're branching into battery home storage too so that looks like a future home upgrade I may end up doing...

    CYURE GOES TO CHICAGO 12/10/2025

Prefer a handle on the A pillar and another grab location on the ceiling/roof as well. Something I can sort of loosely hold onto while driving… that is if my elbow sits comfortably on the window sill and I can still reach the ceiling/roof
