  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

When you say bidirectional charger, does that mean it has the capability of Vehicle to Home without requiring extra adapters or equipment?

Already did, Amazon is out too and doesn't provide an in stock estimate. Oh well! Will keep an eye out.

Of course, it looks like the Emporia hardwired NACS config is currently sold out! Any idea how often they refresh availability?

Haha, not too much yet! There’s been some moments though. Gets to 90 on the highway before you even realize it.

This is what I’ve been assuming as well. If we are doing electrical work now, I want to future proof as much as possible.

This is such great insight. Thanks for sharing!!

Mine just shows up as an overall line item on my policy, not associated with either car specifically. I’ve honestly never really looked into it that heavily!

I wonder if Scout will have some early insurance partners. If I’m remembering correctly (I could be totally hallucinating this), Tesla had specific companies that would insure them early on.

It's a lot of things. Hail damage is big here (that impacts both auto and home insurance costs, yay!). Vehicle theft, high levels of dangerous driving and uninsured motorists is really what contributes big to it though from my understanding. We carry an additional $750 a year Under/Uninsured...

It's a little less (about 40%), which makes sense since the two models aren't an apples to apples model equivalent. I was just hoping that the bump would be less, since the Audi was an expensive vehicle to insure already!

Thanks for the advice! Reading about charging options can get a little overwhelming, there's a lot of technical jargon that I'm not quite up to speed on yet, so it can be slow to muddle through.

Sorry for the delay on this! Currently pricing out adding a 240V to the garage. I think we'll be ok on level 1 in the meantime. My commute is plenty covered during the week with the range, and then having the whole weekend to recharge. Our electrical is old, so I'm hoping we can add a circuit...

Here she is! As always, even with getting mostly everything decided on and taken care of beforehand, it was a giant hassle at the dealership. Can’t wait for the next car we buy (ahem, Scout) to be direct to consumer.

Nice! We have a ‘20 hybrid XSE. I have liked driving it, but there are definitely some quirks to it that are just annoying. I’m excited for my husband to take that over and drive the Ioniq as my daily!

Thanks! I’m excited to hopefully fall in love with the EV life like others here who have dove in.

So, with the time we still have to wait on the Scout, we've been looking at trying to find a good deal on an EV to be our "test" first EV before the Scout. Wasn't in a huge rush, but the incentives expiring earlier this year made it a bit tougher. Luckily Colorado still has a hefty incentive...

    CYURE GOES TO CHICAGO 12/10/2025

I love it. I’m a development PM, so I am always running around to job sites, waiting on people, etc…so often I have a little time to kill but there’s not a great option of anywhere to sit comfortably and work while I wait.

Ideas for the revamps and the Travelers Sister!

I would love to see this as well. I have a Traveler reserved, and will likely not go with the tire carrier from a dimension convenience standpoint. Would be great to see how not having anything here impacts the feel of the ratios of the vehicle.

Ideas for the revamps and the Travelers Sister!

@cyure I missed Jamie's post, what does getting a sister mean? Just the existing Traveler will be refreshed again, or that there will be a second Traveler concept vehicle as well?
