  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Route 66 Centennial Road Trip

This year, 2026 is the Centennial of Route 66, so I was thinking it would be fun to do a road trip with my family on The Mother Road. I'm only in the beginning stages of planning and figuring out if this is even possible for us financially and time-wise, so it's by no means a definite plan yet...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Yeah, I know. I shouldn't feed the trolls (or bots). I'll stop now. He's letting his emotions get the better of him

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Since you seem to have an answer for everything and already know everything there is to know about, well, everything, the solution is crystal clear. You should start your own car company and sell $45k vehicles. You've already laid out the roadmap to doing it, so go ahead. You have the benefit...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Well, of course they would have done due diligence and costing. I figured that went without saying. Scout was announced 4-5 years ago. Many things have changed in the time since, not the least of which is the administration currently in power that is openly hostile to EVs and clueless about...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I'm still not convinced that you're not AI but just in case you're not, here are a few thoughts: 1. DTC model vs franchise dealer doesn't equal zero cost in the DTC model. They are still going to be acquiring land, building brick and mortar locations (workshops, studios, service centers or...

Using an EV for backup power in case of power outage

Pretty sure I shared this in another thread. The F150 Lightning I bought a few months ago has a 240V outlet and V2L capability so I had my electrician install a manual transfer switch and generator inlet plug on my house. I already had my critical loads circuits in a subpanel, so the...

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

Welcome to the most exclusive club on this whole forum! BEV Terra reservation holders, otherwise known (by me) as The Cool Kids. You bumped us up to 8.7%. We're moving up in the world. At some point everyone else will realize how cool we are and they'll all log in and switch their reservations too.

Preparing an EV for a winter storm...

Can you fit both vehicles in your garage? If so, that would be my suggestion. I really dislike having to clean large amounts of snow off cars. I have a 30' X 60' garage and my two classic cars (1965 Chrysler Imperial and 1974 AMC Javelin AMX) take up the far end spots. Last snowstorm, I had my...

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

I agree. Last year, I had a company car for a few months, a Prius plug-in hybrid. The first time I plugged it in to charge I discovered the plug was locked when I tried to unplug it. That was my first experience with a plug in car of any type, so I wasn't aware that some of them lock the...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

^^^This There are 3 DCFCs in a neighboring town about 20 minutes from my house in an area that is on a different circuit from where I live so the likelihood of that area having an outage at the same time as my street/circuit is very low. Also, the area where the chargers are is a town center...

Vintage Scout Cross Country Road Trip

I think it could be a really great experience. You could film it for your YouTube channel. Have you ever watched Derek Bieri from Vice Grip Garage? He always goes and gets old vehicles running and drives them home usually several hundred miles, often breaking down and fixing the vehicle on the...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

Some of the home battery systems on the market include inputs for integration with EVs and generators for charging the home batteries if needed. For example, one of the batteries that our company sells, the Franklin WH battery system offers an optional generator integration module that allows...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

Well, since the Scouts are geared toward the outdoor/camping enthusiast crowd, maybe they will have an option for a center console that converts into a firepit, but you have to get the cabana roof with that option to let the smoke out. Bring your own cordwood! :ROFLMAO:🔥
