  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Just throwing this out there since one of our cars has this and the other doesnt- Separate the "child window lock" and "child door lock" into separate buttons/functions. Our subaru has a latch on the door that you can flip when the door is open to turn on the "child door lock" (door can only...

I think our Volvo actually has more. Knob for light settings as well as separate buttons for front/rear fog lights. And "reset" which does ????

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I was initially thinking the same thing, but we're also trying to get the kids through all 50 states and we've already covered the coasts, so would really just be an excuse to get the midwest done!

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

It's definitely reliability, the ones that hold their value are the ones you still see on the road after 200k miles.

Did you catch a hummer EV in the background?

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

My understanding was that the overall MXB platforms were very similar with adjustments for engine configuration and drivetrain, but my comparison was more of a size thing (and this was like 2012 so before the Q3 existed which I think is a better present day comparison). Regardless, I'll take...

What's the deal with software issues in many newer expensive EVs?

Our Volvo is the same- each key is assigned to a profile and it will default to the profile of whoever accesses the car first (even if they open a non driver door). It can be annoying sometimes but not a huge issue.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I know its not a Touraeg, but we test drove a Tiguan before settling on the Q5. They are basically identical vehicles except for the badge on the front, but the drive and interior comfort was night and day. You could easily see where Audi was putting the extra $$ they're getting from you.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I'd expect the same as you see with VW/Audi where the top and bottom trims overlap in price.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

Unless they've changed things, Audi only has 3 trim levels.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

Just going to echo what most other here have said and say "what does that get you?" I don't care if Scouts start at 10k. What matters to me is what does the Scout cost with the features/packages/accessories I want within my budget.

Cruise Control Following Distance (and other assists)

Both our Subaru and Volvo do this to me and its super obnoxious. If I'm not death gripping the wheel or making minor adjustments, it thinks my hands arent on the wheel and starts yelling at me. Like, I get it, but there's got to be a better way. I'd love to see it go as low as 15 just so I...
