  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

3 car garage is just more room to keep stuff and leave the car in the driveway, ask me how I know

This is one of my Volvo peeves too! In my Subaru its a knob I can just turn to get the air just to where I want (usually feet + defroster in the winter). In the Volvo, theres only a Defroster button which puts you on MAX AIR, so you then have to go a layer into the touchscreen to adjust where...

Our volvo auto-folds when you lock the car, and if you press both mirror buttons together otherwise it will fold/unfold them. I think you can also double press one of the buttons and it will angle it down for parking ;)

Will never forget pulling in to pick up my youngest from daycare one day and there were 3 teslas in the parking lot, all with "be patient new driver!" magnets on them, and all were scratched, dented, or suffering from more than "cosmetic damage" Yeesh.

I think the problem is even more pronounced with adults. Kids have had technology exposure for their entire lives and are generally adaptable/quick to learn things. New-adult-drivers cause absolute chaos in "autopilot" vehicles.

This is one of my biggest issues with Teslas, something I've stated on this forum many times. Many years ago, if you saw an old beater coming up on the highway you might thing "oh boy, here we go." Now its a Tesla. Inexperienced drivers flock to Tesla because it "drives itself" and when...

If some of these EVs were gas vehicles you'd have to navigate through multiple touchscreens to unlock your fuel door.

This just reminded me of something else that grinds my gears in both of our cars. In my subaru, I can't open the fuel door without pulling a physical switch to unlock it. I've had my car for like 8 years and still forget half the time. Annoying! In the Volvo, its the usual push-to-open system...

Trying to flip an aux switch to control your winch with muddy hands but it's buried in 4 touchscreen menus.

    Center Screen

I love the rectangular screen, it gives really clean lines across the entirety of the dash which a lot of cars love to break up now. As far as HUD, for me it really depends on the implementation. I don't have experience with the more involved ones that show maps and such, I think I'd find that...

A few years ago the concept didn't bother me as much as it does now. I love our Volvo, its a great drive, super comfortable, blah blah. But the lack of physicality in its interface drives me nuts when it comes to things like changing the temp/airflow or switching the display. It's evangelized me...

Unfortunately my interest level in talking to my car to do things is even lower than using a touchscreen. We have it in our Volvo and I've used it maybe a handful of times and most of those are to just show someone how it works.

It does! From pictures when shown from an angle it always looks "standard" to me so understanding the actual scale has always been challenging. I also see tons of Broncos around here so daydream about it a lot lol.

    Try before you buy?

Rivian has a lot of test drive events for their cars, but it's really tough (at least in my area) to book an appointment. If/when Scout does this I'd love to, selfishly, have reservation holders be able to line jump.
