  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

It would be interesting to see how many cubic inches these batteries contain compared to existing technology.

Ok, that’s about 340 watts/Kg, not bad. The range in miles is separate from this if I understand this correctly. All the little efficiencies like aerodynamics, rolling resistance, elevation change are what determine “range.” 600 miles on 90kWh translates to 6.67 miles/kWh. Is there ANY EV on...

Yes but what is the energy density/Kg? Isn’t that the only real measure here? If someone can show me a 1kWh/Kg energy density… then I’ll be impressed.

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

IIRC, @Jamie@ScoutMotors as already said previously that the HVAC system will be “robust”.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

A tree undoubtedly… or maybe a space alien.

Is there any kind of a $$ differential between using a card reader at the pump and using a dedicated app?

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

During the 1960’s in my tender teens I had an uncle who was a musician, folk singer/song writer. Blue Grass was all the rage and I asked him if he could play Blue Grass. He said; “I’d like to be able to play Blue Grass—and then not.” Since then that has been my mantra for anything frivolous...

    Drive-Inn Theater Mode

I managed a drive-in movie theater for 1/2 a summer one year in Bozeman, MT. It didn’t get dark enough until about 10:15.

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

Hardwiring is the best option but a plug will work given the caveats above. Plus you don’t need to use the maximum capacity of your circuit. For example: At 80% continuous load a 50amp circuit will deliver 40amps, but you don’t have to use that much. You could set your charger for anything...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The problem with the subscription model is it generates steady revenue for the provider. That’s why software companies went to this business model years ago.
