  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

That’s how I plan on using mine. And since I usually drive less than 10 miles/day i wont need to charge very often either.

    EREV initial release only?

I can’t remember hearing anything about EREV’s before Scout. After momentum starting building for Harvester, then I started hearing about EREV’s from Ford and Ram. Who’s competing with who? I think it’s the other way around.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I agree. This guy is interesting to watch but I think he is burned up about Ford, and his insurance experience, and is taking his frustrations out on any “EV delay” news.

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

All a person has to do is wait to buy a lease return. Raise that body off the frame, strip the electrics out, then add the suspension and power train of your choice. Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy.

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

Nothing is known for certain at this point about towing capacity. I imagine they are still testing/refining that benchmark. You know there is no shame in waiting to make a purchase. Nothing says we MUST be the first purchasers—other than our drooling anticipation. ;)

    Scout Color Poll #1

It’s probably safe to assume the four colors we’ve seen so far will be available.

    Pets of Scout Motors

I grew up in Colorado, lived in Montana and Idaho. This kind of stuff didn’t use to bother me. I looked at my wife yesterday and said, “I’m glad we don’t live in Montana anymore.” I’m such a weenie.

Broken Record here—- they will probably produce in proportion to paid orders.

EV reservation holders, would you consider the Harvester

My thought exactly. Hybrids in any form (notably EREV’s) are a good (read that as ‘necessary/unavoidable’) bridge technology to an all electric future.

    Long distance EV towing video

Yes! This is something the pure EV YouTubers seem to have very little concept of when speaking about “adequate” charging infrastructure. They don’t, or haven’t, lived in the western US (not the coast). Look at any EV charging map. There are VAST areas outside of easy charging access—and if...

Has anyone seen or heard any information on the kill-switch issue? This is the only YouTuber I’ve seen talk about it, and she does seem a bit strident at times. But I wonder what the truth is what you all think about this.

Traveler color suggestion (white /red & blue stripes)

Yes the wait. The slobbery, drooley, suspense is killing me.

    Northern Climate FAQ

I spent most of the ‘70’s in Bozeman, MT and “c” & “d” were the norm. On “d” mornings I had to put my Jeep in low range just to get it to move until the transfer case warmed up.
