  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I never have the range in miles displayed on mine, only the battery percentage. I find miles of range changes so much based on driving, I prefer to just see the percentage and I can figure out in my head when/if I'll need to charge based on that.

    Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! 🎆 I’m looking forward to seeing all the progress Scout Motors makes in 2026. I feel like it’s going to be a busy year!

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Exactly this, I have no problems paying the $99 for premium connectivity on my Tesla which gets me live traffic, remote camera access, and most importantly streaming which includes Spotify, Netflix, YouTube TV etc. It would be a big no like you say if it was for heated seats or something else...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I’m not sure how destination chargers vary compared to Tesla Wall Connectors at home (if at all) but on mine I have 3 options for it: 1) Only my specific vehicle can charge on it. 2) All Tesla’s but no other vehicles can charge on it. 3) All EVs can charge on it. It could be they haven’t...

    Make steering wheel sportier

Mine can do this as well, just stop and open the door and it auto parks and will turn off as I close the door and leave.

    Merry Christmas 🎄🎁

Cruise Control Following Distance (and other assists)

This is pretty much what I would want for hands free driving on interstates as well.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I'm sure for quite a few people, technically owning any car might not be worth it from a purely financial standpoint. If you have a short commute or work from home, it might be cheaper to get a taxi/uber for short commutes and groceries and rent a car for the occasional long trip or truck when...

EV reservation holders, would you consider the Harvester

I'm down for the Terra EV and that is all I'm considering, if it was EREV only then it would be a no for me. I think a Rivian R1T would be a bit too small for my needs so I would have to see what is around in 2027/2028 if the Chevy/GMC are still full EV and if any others have hit the market at...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

No chance at that, it's shaped like a big brick. 2.5-3.0 in perfect conditions would be nice. I'm expecting it to be fairly close to the Lightning in terms of efficency, hopefully a little better, but nothing near those figures.

Concern about the complexity and cost of repairs/maintenance for EREV

That could also be a difference maker between EV only and EREV that I hadn't thought of. I wonder what the warranty will look like between the two. I assume they'll have the same battery warranty length/miles but I guess we'll see, and then what the warranty is like on the Harvester components...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Yep, there were $10-$15k markups on them at the dealers near me. I've seen one on the road so far, so hopefully not many people bought them with those markups. They do have some decent discounts now, but still the range seems too low to me, especially at the price point they're at.

The gas tank needs to be bigger on the Harvester models

That's still how I think it will be: "In most normal uses you should run out of fuel before you run out of battery." That to me means the generator will try and keep the battery at a steady percentage until it runs out of gas, which would be around 350 miles of driving, then it would have to use...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

A friend of mine likes the Audi dealer on Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg and got his from there. That's where I usually get my Tesla inspected as well.

The gas tank needs to be bigger on the Harvester models

How I read it is, if you have 100% battery and a full tank of gas it will do the 500 miles. So maybe it would be electric only to say 50% and go 75 miles on electric only. Then the gas range extender kicks in to keep it around 50% of charge for the next 350 miles and if it runs out of gas and...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

That's the real problem with Tesla FSD, it's pretty good and ahead of a lot of things on the market but it's not real FSD. If they'd just have called it something else with it being supervised, I don't think it would really be an issue.

Ideas for the revamps and the Travelers Sister!

I think for me, I'd like to see a version closer to the $60k base price. I'm sure if the current concepts were released as actual vehicles they would be near the top end of the trim level. I know they like to make them look as good as possible, but it would be nice to see how it would look in...

This new version will probably still come out before the RAM version.
