  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

Somehow this always shocks me. In my head these are still somewhere between a mid and full-size vehicle. I’m going to have to come to terms with the size one of these days.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

For sure, agreed. It could end up being a very small percentage depending on the final price of the vehicles as well as the community (and their enthusiasm level) and demographic that embraces them when they arrive. Also as Chavannigans noted above, the weight will likely be a limiting...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

“Void a warranty” is a little broad, but I know what you mean. My understanding is it doesn’t automatically void the vehicle’s warranty and it doesn’t automatically void the warranty in relation to suspension components and related parts either. With that said, if an owner modifies parts or...

Just to clarify ClearLidz are not OEM.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I’d happily donate ALL of my frunk space to the cause. :ROFLMAO:

Love it! Thank you for the update and details Jamie!

    CYURE GOES TO CHICAGO 12/10/2025

I’ve never heard of this light horn. Is that the same as the “road rage continuator/antagonizer”? :ROFLMAO:

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

Agreed. I’ll get out and watch on the first one before I decide if I want to be inside on the second switchback and beyond. That trail is no joke.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I’m not in disagreement here, but make no mistake - lifting the vehicle absolutely does not automatically eliminate capability. Not all lift methods are built the same.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I believe so, kind of like a tank turn. You can get Trail Turn Assist on a Bronco or on a JL/JT (with a Tazer) as well. It’s not the same thing, but still helps in the same types of situations.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I thought Rivians were marketed as adventure (off-road capable) vehicles. Regardless, I still believe SM can and will do better.

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

…and here I am thinking it could be a somewhat smaller, more capable and nimble sibling.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I’ve owned both a 4Runner and FJ. Pucker factor on those can be really high in the tougher stuff. I don’t enjoy teeter-tottering with one of the front tires saluting the sky. That’s not really my cup of tea. I’m hoping for closer to Rubicon level capability, so hopefully I’m not barking up...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

Agreed. The only vehicle I’ve witnessed and experienced that would be somewhat close is a Bronco Raptor. Still, it struggled and needed a locker on one obstacle that sticks in my mind because the Rubicon had just walked right up it (no lockers). I was baffled. Side note: the size of the...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I see what you’re saying now and I have to agree. I have witnessed countless situations where a Rivian (I’m not picking on Rivian, I just happen to have seen it with R1Ts on rougher trails the most graphically) will unfortunately have egregious wheel spin over certain not-really-that-difficult...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I’m looking for longevity and easy maintenance as well as very easy to modify. I’d say that puts me in the coils and shocks camp. I hope you’re wrong about rocks because I intend to put mine in the rocks. It would be disappointing for the Scout to not be able to handle rocks and ledges and...

    CYURE GOES TO CHICAGO 12/10/2025

I agree and I would do the same. Many of my vehicles needed some de-badging upon purchase to give them more of a “clean” look. I’d prefer SM keep it clean and classy.
