  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Preparing an EV for a winter storm...

I’ve been in a thunder snowstorm once (top of a mountain while getting elk we harvested to the truck as the sun set). It was WILD!

    Thoughts on Factory 37s

    Forget 37’s - we want 40’s! :ROFLMAO:

That’s my truck. All pictures captured with an iPhone.

    Jeep Recon

Yeah, a TRX never gets used to do truck stuff or get dirty…

    Jeep Recon

Not at full throttle. The TRX is a fat and thirsty pig (ask me how I know). Obviously the TRX and the Scout (or any EV) go about Fuel Economy/Range differently. The TRX is by far my favorite vehicle I’ve owned to date. I refer to it as the best stupid vehicle I’ve ever owned. Below are a...

    "Harvester" badge for non-Harvester models

Careful, this opens a huge can of worms and discussions that rival family disagreements at the Christmas Table.

    "Harvester" badge for non-Harvester models

Only the cool kids get the Harvester Fuel Door! :ROFLMAO:

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I appreciate the info/story here. It’s a story like this that makes me never want to go full EV. The trouble with a charger and crappy winter conditions is just a deal breaker for me. At your first stop in a traditional vehicle you could have topped off the gas tank, get a snack, pee, and get...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

No one else got one of these in the mail? Maybe only if you order a Harvester?

    Make steering wheel sportier

I’d prefer the Start/Stop button to not be on the steering wheel. I’m not 100% in love with the whole design, but I’m sure I’d get used to it. I really prefer the thick/chunky steering wheel in my truck. It just feels right. Scout Ram TRX

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

If I have to pay a subscription for the heated seats, I’m not buying the vehicle. XM or Onstar is different, but not heated seats!

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

If I move forward with my Harvester reservation I’ll have a charger installed at home. I’ll just have to decide between the Terra and Traveler. I’m still up in the air between the two.

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

This is me - 10ish miles per day as a rule. However, on days where I do go longer distances or end up where I’m away from chargers, having a gas motor is comforting. There’s the pure EV camp, and there’s the Harvester camp. I’m full on Harvester, but I understand why some are the other way...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

There’s a lot of math here to digest (my wife just asked me why I had a calculator out while looking at the tablet). Also lots of good detail. My wife and I make a yearly trip to San Juan Island in Washington from our home in Montana. It’s 550 miles to the ferry terminal in Anacortes, WA. We...

    Possible competition?

The 38 minute mark reveal of the Harvester is why myself and many others made a Scout reservation. I have zero interest in a full EV (I’m not convinced that the charging infrastructure is there, and I’m still not comfortable with range limits and range anxiety). The Harvester allows for...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

“Can’t Cover Stupid!” That needs to be in the warranty disclaimer on each Scout. That’s funny as hell!

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

After 25 years in the school bus industry I’d argue the parents are a bigger problem these days.

Show us your holiday spirit and/or Xmas tree

I’d be better off not getting her a gift!

Show us your holiday spirit and/or Xmas tree

We are only doing stocking stuffers this year, no gifts. That said, as a husband of over 20 years I know better than to fall into that trap. I’ve got something extra to slide under the tree when she’s not looking.
