  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

According to Google the highest elevation point in South Carolina is “Sassafras Mountain, located in Pickens County on the border with North Carolina, reaching an elevation of about 3,560 feet.” My day starts at 3,200 feet. I’ve got mountain passes at highway speeds in all directions, back roads...

If @Jamie@ScoutMotors thinks that’s more beneficial to the Scout Community, I’d gladly run it through its paces. It’s really a community service I’d be providing, and I’m just happy to be of service.

I’ll even head into Idaho and Washington. The offer stands @Jamie@ScoutMotors. Let me know how/when you want me to take delivery of the Harvester of your choice.

Send a Harvester my way @Jamie@ScoutMotors! I’ve got access to all sorts of terrain, weather, and elevation changes. Honestly, I’d do it as an unpaid internship kind of thing. Pay for the gas/charging, and I’ll drive the Harvester (Terra or Traveler, your choice) all over Montana.

Scout’s at Barrett Jackson, Scottsdale 2026

It will be fun to see what the old Scout’s go for at Barrett Jackson. It’s a rich man’s game there with inflated prices, but still fun to watch. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/2026-scottsdale/docket?page=1&type=Vehicles&q=Scout&size=48

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

According to the Gemini Machine (I bet it’s pretty close) Traveling in April introduces a high probability of late-season slush on Lookout Pass (MT/ID border) and Snoqualmie Pass (WA). Your 35" All-Terrains provide the necessary bite for these conditions, but they create a significant...

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

I actually have a real world test route in my mind that would be awesome to compare a Scout with and without the Harvester setup. The idea is to leave 60 seconds apart, and you have to set the cruise (when traffic allows) and the posted speed limit. 550 miles and three mountain passes with...

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

It’s 100% accurate. In theory I could charge in Hamilton (about 50 miles into the trip), but there is no way to do the loop I did without a detour to charge in Dillon like it suggests. A stop in Dillon isn’t all bad, pizza at Pappa T’s is pretty damn good! But again, if you want to stick to the...

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

I did this trip back in October on my birthday. It’s cool to have a real world example between the two. This is a high-altitude "Speed Run" through the Pioneer and Pintler ranges. In October, the thermal reality of Southwest Montana—where morning temperatures can dip to 25°F—will put your...

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

That’s pretty cool! The detail is pretty interesting. It’s a more elegant way of what I’ve been saying for a while now, the Harvester may cost a little more on the trip (gas vs charging) but the range anxiety goes away, and it takes less time to get where you’re going.

Preparing an EV for a winter storm...

I’d never seen one. I didn’t even know it was possible. It was something out of a movie. We were close to 6,000ft of elevation on the side of a mountain as big snow flakes fell and lightning filled the sky. The day started off blue sky and beautiful, but as the wind picked up you could see the...

    Thoughts on Factory 37s

I had one on my 2012 Power Wagon. AEV in Missoula used my truck for measurements to verify it would work with a gas motor. It was the first “Raised Air Intake” on a non AEV built vehicle. There’s times I still miss that truck.
