  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

IMO the stickers aren't that bad. Here's a random pic of our car (grey one) with the stickers and another one on the left with stickers in the same location. You also have to put 2 stickers on the rear corners of the car as well. Sad to think they'll be useless after today but we'll be keeping...

Today also marks the death of California's Clean Air Vehicle decal program which has been successfully running since 1999. For those who don't know, this program encouraged people to buy clean air vehicles (EV, natural gas, hydrogen, hybrids early on, etc.) by granting them access to the HOV...

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

Dunno if Reddit has some very clever cookies on my computer but in a crazy coincedence, after my previous posts about unreliable Jeeps and particularly Jeep EVs, this showed up as a suggested post.

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

Wrangler is the only Stellantis product I'd consider if the situation was right and it was a second vehicle but even then I have to add an * to that statement and say not the 4xe because of the number of problems people have been having with that power train. Sigh.

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

I have R2 and Traveler reservations as well. Recon isn't on my list because Jeep/Stellantis quality is garbage. Each new model cycle they say things are different now and things have improved, but they haven't. Even if I found Recon visually appealing, which I don't, I'd wait many years before...

What would your last vehicle be if you had to decide today

I made this decision 15 years ago.. To OP's question on what appeals to my inner car loving soul: the simplicity of this car is very zen. Unlike modern cars that have countless mechanisms/technologies to separate you from the machine and the road, you have a 100% direct mechanical connection to...

I'm not sure I agree with this statement. BMW had only been building cars a handful of years before VW started production and of course all that got completely reset in 1945. Even then, does that history from 80 years go have any impact on modern day manufacturing? Reality is every car company...

Yeah it's all just a guess but the Interstate Trailer logo on the front was a big help. From there it was just a matter of matching the other details to find the right model/axle setup and then find one for sale...

Now that's a great pic! Yes pretty background but I'm more interested in the dual axle trailer. Best I can guess is it's an Interstate 6x12 Victory and that's a very important detail because that trailer has a GVWR of 7K. If they were only testing for 3-5K they would have chosen a lighter duty...

Is it sad that I look at that Jeep and immediately picture it being parked in the Emerald Aisle at National rent a car? It's sad how Jeep has gone from something to desire to #2 most popular rental car brand behind Nissan.

    Luxury Pacific Mist

Yeah it's a long video but a fascinating view into another world. Having a company car in the UK was, for a very long time, a staple of a sales rep's comp plan. Those cars were often leased and it wasn't a one size fits all, it literally came down to specific options on the car. Why this all...

Agreed. I'm very much over badging and find the practice extremely dated. These days, you're lucky if the average person on the street even recognizes the model you're in, forget subset information like trims and power train selections. They don't matter and some brands have given them up...

Hey I can drive to that one. Boring shopping center but given neighboring San Jose has the highest EV adoption rate in the country (40% of new cars registered last year were EV), plus just the high adoption rate around the Silicon Valley area, it makes sense. Cherry on top for Tesla is that...

Forget the new stuff, used or classic is where it's at. Enjoy one of the greats at a more affordable price and enjoy the fact it's holding or increasing in value.

What trim levels would you like to see at launch?

Totally agree with the caveat we're still talking about a $60K base price vehicle here. Less bells and less flashy stuff sure, but if it has cheap crappy plastic and less equipment than a low/mid-range 4Runner that's a miss. Definitely a balance there though. On the steelies on 33's comment, I...

Knowing Lucid I'd bet it's a lack of supply vs overwhelming demand. Having seen one on the road I honestly can't imagine any demand for something as boring looking as that. I'm sure it drives great and has great specs, but it looks like a generic traffic car from a video game.

What trim levels would you like to see at launch?

I just want to see, for once, a car manufacturer promote the base model. Yes this will look great with massive off road tires, loaded interior, cabana roof, blah blah, however I'd like to see a palette cleansing no option base car take the stage. If they can make even the base look good, the...

Which is yet another page out of VW's book! In addition to Scout recruiting a TON of talent from VWoA for product development, manufacturing, marketing, leadership, etc., they also tapped into the VW's enthusiast community in the form of Jamie who used to run the vwvortex forums and is now...
