  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Vintage Scout Commercials/Ads

Found reference to the RHD Scouts starting on page 39 of the Scout Encyclopedia. It started around September 1961 (1962 model) as option code 10525 and cost a whopping $14. They did well in Australia as well as in the states for the Postal Service.

    Don’t be shy, say hi!

https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/don%E2%80%99t-be-shy-say-hi.2654/post-67401 However, being an engineer and a love for math, I have cracked the code given a few hints from an insider at Scout Motors. I was planning on running this by @SpaceEVDriver since he is THE EV MATH WIZARD on...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I have a heat pump water heater in the basement garage which has been great for maintaining the otherwise non-conditioned basement comfortable even when parking my hot SUV in the Summer. This is likely where the new Scout will charge. Yeah, that would likely be insignificant for my 2 bay...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I have a question for EV owners that charge indoors. Living in the humid South our garage temperature can get rather warm in the Summer, especially after pulling in a (ICE) car that has been out and running. That got me wondering if the added heat load of charging an EV is significant...

Traveler or Terra for Road Trips/Daily

I have reserved both as well. I had originally reserved the EREV Traveler, but also range isn't an issue for my use case, so it doesn't make any sense for the extra cost, complexity and maintenance. We rented a BEV last summer and that confirmed that BEV was right for me. Then I reserved a Terra...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

Thanks for that clarification. I had not considered the V2L as the actual charge port. I was thinking less of the hardware involved and more of the function of providing a 240V source which you picked up on. In that case, I have no need for either V2L nor V2H. This right here ^ is much more...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

I am interested in the 240V V2L capability. This could potentially move me from my dependence on a gasoline generator during power outages. The catch is, I reserved the Traveler and the last I heard it only had 120V output  where the Terra has both 120 and 240V . What's the deal...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

While this is very intriguing, my house and I are both too old to consider. If I were building a house, I would seriously consider it or something similar. We used to have frequent power outages, but now only occasional which my generator has no issues getting us through.

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

So, now you have me questioning why or if I need 80 Amp (19.2 kW) charging. I really can't think of an occasion unless I just forgot to keep it charged and need an emergency boost...I mean, as you have recommended, I plan to always be charging (ABC). I have scoped out how to install a 60 Amp...

New Scott Keogh Video! 2025 Thank You

I've been thinking about that production year thing lately. I bought my 79 Scout in October, but I don't recall the year. I don't particularly want to wait too long and I don't know when my reservation will convert to purchase but wouldn't it be cool if I had 2 Scouts exactly 50 years apart?
