  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

Honestly, this is similar to the simulations that our teams run all the time. It is very easy to simulate real-world road conditions when you have all the road map data, elevation changes, control the weather, loads, tires, driveline considerations, aerodynamics, and more. I'm looking forward to...

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

I don't want to discourage you guys as this is a fun exercise, but I have to caution that because EREVs are starting to become popular in a much, much broader set of configurations (RAM with a big battery, big fuel tank and big engine versus old data from the BMW i3 with a 3-cylinder motorcycle...

Where & When Can i see a Scout in Michigan?

We currently have no auto shows on our 2026 schedule. That could change, but we are looking at different events for 2026.

    Thoughts on Factory 37s

There are no current plans to offer a factory 37" tire. That doesn't mean we might not in the distant future, but nothing planned at this point. We merely wanted to showcase that they fit on the concept and acknowledge that some people will mod them this way. If we did offer 37" tires there is...

    Battery used

This article gives a good state of the union (and talks a bit about Donut Labs as well): https://www.batterytechonline.com/design-manufacturing/can-donut-lab-deliver-production-ready-solid-state-batteries-for-verge-motorcycles-in-q1-2026

    A Gift From Scout Motors

Two updates - 1. The "gift" took a little longer to produce, but I think will go out this month. 2. We have moved all of our reservation holders over to our new CRM system and email communications should improve significantly and be coming more frequently. That said, we used the new system in...

Our vehicles will support 48 amp Level 2. We also plan to offer V2L/H and Bi-Directional Charging Systems. Subject to change of course, but that is the current plan.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

I think the difficulty is that some of the vehicle wireless services (using an app to unlock your vehicle or remote start it) require a cell phone connection in the vehicle (some vehicles use NFC at close range, but that's a different discussion). Essentially, your car has a cell phone inside...

The gas tank needs to be bigger on the Harvester models

We have to certify the vehicles for the Davis Dam test (part of the SAE J2807 standard), which is arguably one of the most extreme use cases most people would encounter on a public road. In reality and in most usage cases, you could easily tow more. But we have to certify it to meet that...

The gas tank needs to be bigger on the Harvester models

It won't be linear. Depends completely (just like an ICE vehicle) on how you drive and where you drive. The efficiency of the engine generator completely depends on the loads and use of the vehicle. The engine can be used at any time to help charge the battery - parked, highway driving, around...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

Not an official answer from Scout here, but manufacturers have to draw a line somewhere. We can't cover "stupid" in some cases. :D That said, we expect people to offroad their vehicles and we will offer factory accessories for that purpose as well. Let's see what the fine print says when we get...
