  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

With the latest Porsche and Audi's charging really quickly, I'm optimistic. Check out this charging curve from Audis latest. It holds over 300kw from ~3% - 65%. As a result, it charges over 10 minutes faster to 80% than my Ioniq 9 (which is also 800v, and a decent charger). Thats a huge...

    240V Outlet on Traveller

Yeah, I think thing the adapter/dongle approach could work well, particularly for the Traveller. Few other notes/thoughts: If we're doing a single 120v adapter, please let it be a Nema 5-20. No need to hamstring ourselves with a 15amp outlet, when the 20amp version adds some additional...

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

Oh, and for context, I went and dug up the F150's charging curve. You can see the shape of the graph here is different than the Ioniq. Thats what we're talking about. It holds its peak charge rate for a very short time (~2-12%???). The Ioniq does it from ~2-55%.

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

I was thinking about this the other day. Yes, agreed, could easily extend the warranty, or make it better in some way, with relatively minimal impact. And, I was also thinking about the charging curve/size of battery. Typically larger batteries end up with higher peak charging rates, but the...

Test drove a couple Wranglers today…

I bought my new vehicle 6 weeks ago. They had somehow lost the second key. They said they'd send it later that day. After something like 25 texts and emails, they finally reached out 1.5 weeks ago with info that they'd finally received the replacement key (they'd lost it and had to get a new...

    240V Outlet on Traveller

Nearly 100% of my use for 240v would be for home backup. My entire neighborhood was built with manual transfer switches, as we get power outages with some regularity in the winter after wind storms put trees through the power lines. And 240v is much, much preferred for that use, as it gives...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

And the kids pinewood derby cars went pretty well. Although I wish I had some powdered graphite on hand (the stuff I found was flakes :/). Somewhat strangely, I think we found that the random off-brand of pinewood derby car that my son ended up with, vs the "official" kit that my daughter...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Status update: Finally received the new glass for the window (after an online order held it "hostage" for more shipping :/), and got it installed last night. It went more or less exactly as I thought it would, which is to say "pretty smoothly". I did end up having to install/remove the glass...

    actual ranges before orders?

My ioniq 9 still does regen in "regen mode zero". But there is a separate way to disable regen to exercise the disk brakes.

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

Oh man, is it sportsball bowl time of year again? I thought it was later? And, halftime show being controversial. The last time I remember that happening was when the Janet Jackson thing happened? Did something like that happen again? (as I may have mentioned before, I don't follow sports of...

    actual ranges before orders?

I think suburban/city range for EV's will generally match, or exceed EPA range estimates. My Ioniq 9 is rated for 320 miles of EPA range (dual motor AWD). The most estimated range I've seen out of it so far, is ~408 miles in a charge. In ideal conditions (70f or so). Given, I haven't actually...

Ahh, good old Peanut Butter Yellow.

The white wheels work with that. And with a BEV, maybe they'd even stay sort of white (less brake dust). The white stripe at the bottom is also working pretty well there IMO. And that looks suspiciously like my neck of the woods.

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

I figured this year we wouldn't get much new info. We're just too far out. But fair warning Jamie. I'm planning on getting my expectations up NEXT year. So plan accordingly. :P.

    Comprehensive energy usage view

Simple ask. One that is probably already on the list. But throwing it in here just to be clear. Give us the ability to have visibility onto where the energy is being used in the vehicle. It doesn't have to be a default view (can be hiding in something more advanced if needed), and it also...

    actual ranges before orders?

I think under adverse conditions, with larger tires, you're going to be under 350 miles. Possibly by a lot. And agreed in the ID Buzz. But remember, the ID Buzz started with like ~230 miles of EPA range. And even if the BEV Scout lost as much range in adverse conditions in terms of percentage...

    What’s your hobby

San Juan Island, Washington. So, one of the islands in the Sound here. That view was out towards Victoria/Cowitchan/Nanaimo BC, or somewhere thereabouts IIRC.

    Scout Brand Ambassdor Program

So we're just going to gloss over the fact that this man is wearing another mans socks? Is this some sort of evolution of the "walk a mile in another mans shoes" expression that I'm unfamiliar with?

    What’s your hobby

Nice! I wondered if anyone would find it. Its pretty hidden/small there (I should have uploaded the actual image, not just a screenshot). Strangely, I've never been to that island, and NOT seen a whale. But getting them on camera is harder. My neighbor used to race. And after a long absence...
