  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Ranking current known colors

I literally cannot see anything in that color, other than some colors i discovered in diapers with my kids. Probably weird expression of parental trauma, and now I have a "color aversion" or something like that. But either way, I only see "oh, good, they offer this vehicle in poop green". Or...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

I hope similarly. Although, apparently there is a difference between "dealer installed" addons, and "port installed" addons. Dealer ones you can haggle (like the $800 "required GPS tracking device" they tried to make me pay, that I refused). But the port installed ones are on the official...

    Ranking current known colors

I liked the inside the building photos more. Where it is more blue-silver, than silvery-green. But almost all of the photos I've seen of it outdoors have a lot of green in them, and apparently I have something against anything green. 🤷‍♂️

    Ranking current known colors

I voted white because I "assume" its hard to screw it up, and is something I usually like. But if we had to do a color we've actually seen so far, it would be: Tahitian Red Whatevertheheck matte blue Pacific mist (I actually like the color in some lighting, but not in others) Poop Green...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

While ala-cart ordering of options would be super nice, I severely doubt that it will happen. Every additional choice costs money, as it adds manufacturing complexity. I'm sure we'll get a few trims to choose from, and probably a few option packages too. But I'd assume it will be pretty...

    Ranking current known colors

To be honest, none of the revealed colors so far have done much for me. But of the colors revealed I preferred the first colors the prototypes had. The refreshed colors both went the wrong direction for me.

Package options - what would you like bundled?

I did high school in phoenix, and my parents still live there. I legit had friends that kept oven mitts in the car to be able to touch the steering wheel after school. But I’m assuming you’re not looking for scout branded oven mitts? :D.

Test drove a couple Wranglers today…

*sigh Thats disappointing, and annoying. Sorry. But rest easier knowing that you were in the right there. Partially because I'm a research-oholic, I tend to go into dealerships knowing more about the vehicle than the people selling them, and my expectations are generally low. But even then...

Pictures From Rodeo Event: Ft Worth, TX

With EV's the rotational weight of the wheel/tire plays a pretty big part on the range/efficiency of the vehicle. We are in this weird spot where "higher trim" vehicles still come with larger wheel sizes for some reason. But that almost always comes at a cost of range in an EV. Asked copilot...

ICE To EV. 2019 Tundra to 2023 F150 Lightning Lariat.

If it helps, I live in a similar sort of situation. We are on propane, but we are on city water (my parents cabins are on wells though, so I have some familiarity to that as well, but its not my day to day). We get ~3-10 power outages each year. With the shorter ones being ~1-2hrs, and the...

Test drove a couple Wranglers today…

Speaking directly to this bolded part, because its one I have some sort of experience with. And being polite as possible, I'll say that my perception is that this guy had no idea what he was talking about, at all (or some wires got crossed in translation, or I'm understanding it wrong). The...

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

Ironically, I'm still reserved for a Harvester. But we'll see as things get closer. Specifically how much experience we have with road tripping, and how that has been going. I know road tripping with it is "possible" right now, but its still a change to how we do our road trips. But also, I...

Interesting, you're saying that in a Tesla, if you're using 1 pedal driving, and fully lift off the throttle, it does a "gentle limo stop"? In my ioniq 9 the throttle liftoff behavior is easy to predict, but in one pedal mode, if I lift off all the way, I get max regen braking asap. Usually I...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Sorry, busy week at work, so I'm late. And as already mentioned, the maths look good :D. And everyone knows I'm not going to skip a chance to talk about how cheap EV's are to run, and how much I'm saving driving an EV around here. As mentioned, gas, and electricity prices vary a lot all over...

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

This week I had to go into the office 3 days in a row (which is unusual, I'm usually full time WFH). Because the Ioniq 9 is cheaper to drive, I ended up commuting in that, instead of our smaller Tucson PHEV. But this means that I got a fair bit of seat time. So I thought I'd do some testing...

Glad its helping, even though I don't know if I had a goal in this, other than I guess sharing the process because others asked. Although, TBH, it doesn't feel like I've shared anything illuminating yet, as everything has been pretty uneventful (ie, everything has worked well, other than I've...

Thanks :). Its been a bit of an adventure, as this was a big decision for us. Saying I belabored it might be understating things. I hear you on the numbers/the cost. For us this was right on the edge of what we can afford. Well, without dipping into more significant savings or cutting savings...

Ideas for camo design when the Scouts hit the streets

I mean, as long as its got a lot of patterns and distracting shapes, almost anything could work. Some random thoughts, that I'd assume are nowhere near the mark. Where's Waldo? I mean, they make something like 8k piece puzzles for wheres waldo, that are enormous. I imagine that you could do...

Oh, interesting that regen in the F150 Lightning doesn't offer anything between "on" and "off". But at least it does offer blended braking regen, thats good to know. FWIW, even in "Level 0" regen the Hyundai offers, still has some slight regen, its just quite light. There is an instant readout...

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

This is why I really hope that they put thought into both viewpoints. I know lots of people love one pedal driving, and I of course want those users to have a good setup/hope that its implemented well there. I just also don't want that to be the only well defined option. I have a friend I drove...
