  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I’ve only had to do it once at an EA if I remember correctly, but I was experiencing a service outage with my phone provider so I had no app access

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

To a lot of people leasing doesn’t feel the same as owning, or you also have to worry about the extra mileage fees, even though they would still rather update every couple years for the new technology. Given the youth of electric vehicles, I would absolutely consider leasing my scout, but I...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

From my experience, typically only if you have a subscription to one of the charging station networks, but sometimes even if you don’t have the app readily available if it accepts a card reader, you can put it in your email or phone number on the screen and you’ll still get your discounts

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

The Chevy app last I checked supported a few of the networks near me, but I’ve never had a reason to charge there so I haven’t experienced plug and charge personally. And while here in town we only have a couple of non dealer DCFC (one is the electric company and the other Tesla) and both are...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It seems like a lot of people when they look at modern or new car prices. They are probably higher than they should be but the main thing they see is the depreciation value, especially since EV‘s depreciate pretty fast. The only reason I care about the depreciation value of my current car is...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I also have 7. MyChevrolet, ChargePoint, Electrify America, Tesla, Blink, EVgo, EVconnect. (I also have Abpr, and plug share.) Blink has a physical card I keep in the car but have never encountered one of their chargers being online since it arrived

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

When I got my bolt I was given a discount for a charger, just incase the GM standard one wasn’t in the car, I bought the plug in Charge point home charger. When we finally had it installed our electrician said they would hardwire it for a few reasons but we chatted before the install they...

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

We just switched back to my original provider, I had them with the charger since they didn’t car about the car as much as my record, but when we got the bolt I was offered a better rate with SF but last year they we’re going to jump my car alone nearly 200 so we swapped everything over to my...

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

Can’t the rate for a vehicle drastically change if you’re talking about something new or with fewer models of it in existence for replacements or parts? I’ve tried looking into this but I can’t wrap my head around insurance things

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

GM knows most people won’t ever really off-road with it, apparently towing is even a little noisy due to the body construction, and I’m not surprised, it’s the middle of the more off-road styled Hummer, and the “luxury” of the Sierra. It looks well designed for aero on the road but way to solid...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

That’s not surprising it’s essentially just the Silverado EV with more weight and a different suspension set up and the Silverado is already a bit on the heavy side

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

92k is the pro on the builder, they ones the site finds on inventory range from 82 to 95 with the main difference according to the website being the bed cover, but also the Midgate is maybe not available judging by the 3-D renders of the cheaper model not having the mid gate

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I feel like at least back then a big part of the issue is lack of education from the dealer to the buyer. When I first took my car to the dealership for its 10k mile inspection, I went around and asked to speak to someone about the SilveradoEV, the lady at the front desk, checked to make sure...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I don’t recall the numbers or if there’s been a more recent survey, but when the volt was still in production they was a survey, and many PIHEV owners never plugged in and only bought gas Because they either didn’t realize they could charge it or thought charging was inconvenient

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

This isn’t a great idea, if your car and your phone/watch are capable of communicating that should be part of basic functions, like power mirrors or heated seats. We already pay monthly for our phones, the vehicle and to fuel them. Having a subscription for “self driving” makes sense as there’s...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I can agree with this basic app usage if payment required should be added to the cost of the vehicle for a lifetime subscription

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I can agree the harvester has a place for some people, But with such a low battery only range it doesn’t make sense for others, like me. I drive 100-200 miles a day meaning most if not everyday the harvester would most likely be ran daily at that point, and that starts to add cost, I do...

New Scott Keogh Video! 2025 Thank You

I do understand to an extent where you’re coming from, at a certain point this year I had to disconnect from everything and have not bothered reconnecting for my own mental well-being. That said scout is a company that wants to make money if about 20% of their current reservations are battery...

    Make steering wheel sportier

At least in my current car park is not necessary thanks to one pedal. I have grown tendency to stop in a parking spot and just turn the car off. It will automatically put the car in park and power down.
