  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

EV reservation holders, would you consider the Harvester

This begs the question will there be "aftermarket" updates in the future? By comparison, my old Jeep Comanche is fully in the realm of aftermarket support at this point. Jeep has long since stopped supporting that platform.

That picture sure looks like home for me.

    CYURE GOES TO CHICAGO 12/10/2025

It is the first thing I noticed when the lights were on and I thought something was wrong with it. I assumed it was a lighting effect. Then I got closer and saw that the surround was made that way. It looks odd to me and looks worse at some angles. I do not know the inspiration for the...

Yep, I am fine with a cool light or pattern, but not the logo. Seems kinda cheap to me. The lines like the field rows of the Harvester logo would be cool though.

Yeah, it reminds me of dental molding details you see in old houses. It is one of my least favorite design features on the prototypes.

I am so happy to see actual interior door handles. That is my least favorite thing about the BMW iX. It has door buttons instead of handles.

    I sure hope so.

EV reservation holders, would you consider the Harvester

It is already going to be hard enough to go away from BMW. I would not be interested in a Harvester for my personal use. I am only interested in the Electrall (;)). My family is lukewarm to uninterested in the Scout as it is because of the size. They only tolerate it because I like it so...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

Yeah, I know. I have gotten pleasantly accustomed to those efficiency numbers in the BMW iX. Way better aerodynamics.

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

Sadly, I agree. Software and hardware efficiencies cannot overcome the physics of weight and drag (yet :)).

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

Exact same experience with Electrify America here in the southeast. I have not yet tried to use a supercharger with the BMW iX yet as it is a bit of a hack to use it. I was notified last week that my vehicle should have full compatibility in the spring. Are we really thinking that the...

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

We get more what I’d call frost than freeze. Icy puddles that thaw throughout the morning. Usually once per year we get a few days that hover around freezing for at least 24 hours. But, to your point, not very much.

I am sure it will. The iX can accept a roof rack. There are hidden attachment hard points.

True, I was more so thinking side to side. This is what the roof is like in the BMW iX

Actually, I think the glass roof could cover more area...like all the way to the seams because there won't be a track or motor that also occupies roof space.

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

It does not freeze a lot where I am, but I have never had an issue. The plug and port stay relatively warm and the fit of the two is somewhat weather proof. I have had both NACS and CCS ports. The NACS, which the Scout has, is even less likely to have water intrusion or potential freezing due...
