  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Battery tech

Scouts are not yet in production either. So the plan is that we get yesterday's technology rather than plan to allow for fast breaking technology that by the time of scouts production will have been thoroughly tested and validated?

    Battery Life Cycle

Good point, the new Solid state batteries coming into production have 2,000 to 3,000 life cycles ending with only 5% degradation. bi-directional charging will be counted as normal charging cycles. each cycle is going from completely empty to completely full, so if you only go from 100% to 80%...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I agree with most of these suggestions, but I would say that most important of all the tech added would be a solid state battery that would significantly increase the range from 400 miles stated to 600 to 800, battery life from 200,000 miles to over 500,000 with little degradation. Towing...

Realistic EV Range Degradation and Prediction?

another reason to be sure you have a solid state battery in your new scout: number of cycles of battery - current batteries about 1000 cycles (about 200,000 miles) solid state batteries - between 2000 and 3000, or 400,000 miles to 500,000 miles with degredation only 5% at that time while current...

    Battery tech

VW, throuh PowerCo plans to mass produce solid state batteries. I am sure that initially they will be more expensive, but the tremendous advantages outweigh the higher cost. I will not buy the Scout I have reserved unless it has a solid-state battery, even if it costs more.

    Trailer / Towing Discussion

solution is solid state batteries - significantly longer range, horsepower equivalent to 1000 HP, no fires, charge to 80% in less than 15 minutes, no loss of range when towing, cycles over 1000 (battery will last for 500,000 miles), lighter, cheaper. It would be a tragedy if scouts aren't...

Payload and towing with harvester range extender on a Traveler

solution: Solid State Battrey with significantly more range than current lfp batteries, good in cold weather, great for pulling with no loss of power on hills, no fires, fill to 80% in 15 minutes and available when scouts will be in production,

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

You left out the most important: solid state battery optimized for range of 400 to 600 miles, no need for gas, no worry about fire, no worry about cold weather, no worry about oil, charge battery from 0 to 80% in less than 15 minutes, less weight, less cost, no polution

I hope no lithium ion batteries are even being looked at. New SSB: range 400-600 miles, less weight, less expense, charging in less than 15 minutes to 80%, less than 5% degradation after 1000 cycles (500,000 miles), towing will not reduce power, operate in cold temperatures, and above all else...

    Battery tech

Solid State Batteries are on the cusp, much the same as the Scout. These batteries have significant advantages over lithium Ion, including range of 400 -600 miles (no need for gas and generator), ability to operate efficiently in cold temperatures, significantly longer life without degradation...
