  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Does that serrated-looking trim around the front grill look like it'd be a b**tch to clean bugs out of?

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

What I'm hearing is that the OP wants Scout to be a disrupter, much like Toyota was when they came to US shores, and much like Kia/Hyundai have done in recent years. Offering value for a reliable vehicle, just in the large SUV/truck game. That worked out very well for the aforementioned car...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If they thought September solar/battery numbers were good, wait until fourth quarter numbers come out. I suspect they'll ramp up a good bit with the expiring federal credits coming to an end on the 31st. After that, I suspect they'll slow dramatically like EV sales did after the end of their...

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

I have to assume Scout is intimately familiar with how Rivian did their roll-out, and the problems encountered, especially in states that don't allow direct-to-consumer sales. Service centers were also a big headache for early Rivian adopters, so there's a great recent benchmark in what to do...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

You're looking at this all wrong. China is bad for our country in the long run, so let them slowly poison their land and water while we enjoy less air pollution. I have yet to see any Ev-is-better-than-ICE argument/study that factors in the ever-changing mining side of things. Every new...

Cruise Control Following Distance (and other assists)

How many vehicles with smart cruise controls allow you to use it like a dumb cruise control where it just maintains a speed you set? I've tried and used the smart ones in the past, but I feel that I get too complacent behind the wheel when doing so. If I use cruise control nowadays, it'll only...

    Rear Wiper Hopes & Dreams!

The math doesn't work for a single top-mount wiper in my opinion. The short, wide rear window with a spare blocking a large chunk makes a top-mount practically useless. Mount a wiper low, behind the spare, on an arm for better coverage. Ideally though, since you really won't be able to see...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I wasn't too impressed with the 5mm accuracy for placing parts, but that's a heck of a lot better than the kids making a Big Mac. Perhaps they should do a trial run in fast food.

    A Gift From Scout Motors

Meanwhile, there's a Scout employee reading your comment, cursing. They put their phone back down on the folding table. Looking out over the unfinished factory floor, wishing they had heat, they slap another stamp on an envelope, hand-write the address, only a hundred thousand to go...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

That might be the answer for some of the members here that want $100k+ of features in their $60k SUV... I'm optimistic that Audi will do a good job and NOT make it look like the rest of their vehicles. It's not like Mercedes's G looks like the rest of their lineup. Hopefully they use parts...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Winter in northern Maine is definitely a problem. Jackman, ME is the last charger heading north to my knowledge and you definitely DON'T want to plug anything bigger than a cell phone in to the usual cabins. Most of the logging roads stay pretty clear, but deeper snow and cold weather is hard...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

No BEV for me. I have range anxiety with gas-powered vehicles and often have to carry extra gas cans on trips. If there aren't enough gas stations, there sure as heck aren't enough charging stations for me. I also do like the idea of "dual fuel" for lack of better words. When gas was hard to...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

I'm hoping for a print! I'll frame it to match my early-reservation R1S print from Rivian! Hmm, I starting to see a pattern with me and "new" car companies. I had one of the first MINIs when they launched in the US too.

    actual ranges before orders?

Makes sense to me as the driver of a manual transmission. I typically downshift to slow down before using regular brakes. I do NOT do that in icy/snowy conditions though as it upsets everything and you can easily lose control/traction. In those cases, I want to use the brakes like as gently...

What would your last vehicle be if you had to decide today

I'm gonna have to go with the HSV ClubSport R8 Tourer LSA, with the MANUAL transmission, in orange. A close second would be an orange CT5 Blackwing with bronze wheels also with a manual transmission.

    0-60 times with harvester

A good offense is as important as a good defense. I've used acceleration a number of times to avoid accidents, likely saving injuries and lives over my million+ miles of driving. It's the same reason I buy the most premium-handling tires and run the best quality brake pads/rotors on my...

    0-60 times with harvester

I daily drive a sedan with a 0-60 in the low-4s, and frankly, it could use notably more power. The car has the brakes and handling to back up that power, but frankly, these stupid-fast electric SUVs/trucks generally don't and I find them irresponsible as such. With that said, back to the...
