  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What's the deal with software issues in many newer expensive EVs?

I suspect a lot of the issues stem from moving EVERYTHING behind a screen instead of keeping buttons, or at least doing a slower transition away from buttons. There's a LOT of coding to get right. Adding app access for stuff complicated things. My bigger worry is security. If your bank can't...

I just need to remember to use the generator often enough and not rely solely on electric for daily driving duties. There's nothing worse for an engine than sitting unused.

    Possible competition?

Anyone else putting the generator in the back? Love the frunk, and with the spare tire on the back of the Traveler, it's a great use of space underneath.

It's only there to give us bench-seaters something to make fun of you captain-chairistas for. Between that and the storage hole underneath, you guys are gonna have stuff flying around all the time. Meanwhile we're just chilling with the dog next to us, enjoying the ride.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

Speaking of Audi, at what point does Scout pricing step on the Audi version's toes? It sounds like a number of people are willing to spend north of $80k for this vehicle, but I think that'll really be an issue for Audi since I doubt Audi will come up with a more attractive SUV than Scout has...

Don't forget the other side of things. While engines in recent years can go hundreds of thousands of miles with basic maintenance, that era seems to have ended with all of the downsizing, forced induction, zero-weight oils, etc. When even Toyota has failing engines left and right, you'll see...

You're looking at this all wrong. It's a phone charger with an optional "plate" that can harness the induction power and turn it into heat so you can have WARM snacks! Nobody wants a Reese's puddle. Think induction cooktop technology, miniaturized.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

Crap, four options, forgot the transmission choice as mentioned in other posts. In this case, it didn't really count since it was a captive import. Holden Commodore from down under, imported by Chevy for 4 years.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'm guessing you're too far north, but this is a common problem farther south. We get rain and temps get below freezing over night, freezing door seals, etc. The surface of the vehicle dries, but every crevice is frozen solid. I've broken handles off cars trying to get them open. My old Ford...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

It was really nice ordering my last car since the only options were color, sunroof or not and full-size spare or not. Ventilated seats, etc were standard on all cars, no packages, etc. I'm sure that makes manufacturing simpler!

With Rivian planning LIDAR in the upcoming R2 and being incorporated into their software stack, Scout could probably get a decent bulk discount which would help Rivian get a better deal as well. With both vehicles releasing around the same time, there's a possibility discussions are being had...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Pretty sure I still have the vinyl perforated sear marks on my legs from old Beetle seats in Miami. Nowadays, tinted windows help, but most of the sun comes through the windshield which we're NOT allowed to tint.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

With ventilated seats in one of our cars now, I know it's an unspoken requirement for the next vehicle. I just don't want that requirement to prevent me from having a bench seat.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

My wife's at the point in life where she's almost always hot. This morning's COLD temperatures are the only exception I've seen in recent memory. She's only warm this morning. :ROFLMAO:

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'm probably the only one here, but I want a heated AND ventilated front bench seat. Just because I want the function of a bench seat doesn't mean I want swamp ass.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

If a decently-equipped Scout is selling for north of $80k, I'll probably pass because I don't think the Scout brand will be long for this world and I have enough vehicles that are impossible to find parts for. Thankfully, being under the VAG umbrella, I think $60k will get a well-equipped...

Ideas for the revamps and the Travelers Sister!

Scout's design team is nailing my preferred aesthetic and color palette as-is, so I can't ask for more than I've already seen. I'm with @SrfnFly227 though and would love to see a more utilitarian version like a work truck. It's almost winter, so paint that thing PBY and mount a faded yellow...

Cherry cola? As in a black with undertones of red flake? That could be stunning if done right, and a bit of a chameleon like the Pacific color. Black in some light, dark cherry in other light.

Would anyone NOT buy a Scout if they didn't offer a white and black option? Break the mold, get away from the "safe" options!
