  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What accessories would the supplier park install?

At a minimum, they will be doing the dealer add-ons that Direct Marketing is missing out on. Stripes, tint, wraps, custom bumper, winch, roof rack, misc other stuff (cargo box, water carrier), aux lighting, perhaps the general dealer up charge crap like scotch guard and undercoat). Perhaps...

Not to mention, where else are we going to get our rally stripes installed.

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

Stuff rolling around could be an issue - but keeping stuff from rolling from the back seat to the front seems to be an easily solved one (a couple straps or some Velcro. Hell, I have cargo netting between the front and rear seats of my Jeep to keep stuff from coming forward (although that stuff...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I have never really been worried about being car jacked at a gas station. Lots of lights, plenty of witnesses, plenty of cameras. I did have a client attacked at a gas station - but his daily carry stopped that pretty damn quick. But I am in Texas. It was a road rage incident. He had been...

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

I think they also mentioned that the supplier park will be used for adding post production accessories to vehicles. Kind of a neat idea. I am not sure if it is for OEM accessories or aftermarket ones before delivery.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

About the only reason I enjoy power folding mirrors is because it might keep people from keying my vehicle (been there, done that - had some drunks hit my mirror then destroy my paint job). My F250 is larger than that F150, and has towing mirrors - so I do fold them to keep from annoying people...

Or - just make EV's compete on a level playing field and not piss off 50% of Americans again. It is not that hard. Build a better product at a competitive price. But sure, tell 1/2 the consumer base they are stupid really will help expand EV sales. Try to force them, they will only fight back.

    Become A Scout Wayfinder

As much as I think it would be fun to be part of the group - I have a feeling my demographic group is a bit too small (a group of one). As such, will just try to be an unofficial ambassador instead.

    Early adopter lease, purchase hesitation

I can see your point - and will admit I have thought about it before. I don't really want to purchase a vehicle only to be a beta tester. But leasing to be a beta tester seems more palatable. That said, I think that initial orders will consume quite a few months of early production...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Not sure how long it will work (but it has been working for about 10 years so far) - but my VW has the rear view camera under the emblem. It flips up when the car is in reverse. Of all the rear view cameras on cars we own - it is the only one that is always clear. Better than a water sprayer.

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

That is bad mileage for a gas bus. That said, I have hit the 8's before - towing an RV with a gas F150. That sucked. But towing with a Scout is something I don't really think about. My F150 did a 1000 mile tow last year - probably averaged close to 14. Sure, that still sucks - but lot...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Audi already was talking about building an SUV with a portal axle - that would be a significant upscale upgrade (especially if they wanted a Defender competitor). Possibly something that could distinguish it against the Scout - while putting it in a different price point.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Honestly the Audi is fairly believable. I think Jamie already mentioned the possibility of the plant making vehicles for other parts of the VW group with excess capacity. It would make a lot of sense for them to do it with a vehicle that is >80% Scout. But I am not overly worried that the...

    Load Outs

Can not help but wonder if that "backpack' could be an insulated cooler. But even as just a tool box, it would be interesting if you can put your spare tire elsewhere. People would probably pay 1k for a yeti version... Although honestly, I would prefer it not to be a yeti. Politics suck -...

Missed the rear box drop in for the spare tire carrier. Actually not a bad idea - well if you can put your spare tire somewhere else I guess. They need to insulate it so it can double as an ice chest...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

scanned my email - nothing. Drat. Who knows - could even be trolling. I am fairly active here with an early reservation. Join date to the forum is probably my weakest account stat. Plus I have not purchased any merch yet. My bets were patch, truckers hat, or trolling.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I don't own an EV. I do have one vehicle with a small tank and dismal gas mileage. Going on trips with it does require a little more planning - but not a huge amount more. I have been known to take long trips - but I don't have much range anxiety for those. My only range anxiety is fishing...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I guess after getting a JLURD, I don't understand why Jeep would want to make limited editions. They killed the JLURD by making it nearly impossible to test drive or purchase. But then again, I love my Golf TDI (last 1/2 year of production)-not many of those either.

How Will Scout Keep Its Momentum Until 2027?

Well one thing would be nice - no factory recalls. It needs to be debugged before delivery. With no dealer network, it could be a bit harder to fix things once they are in the wild. Using tried and tested architecture should help with that.

How Will Scout Keep Its Momentum Until 2027?

Budget wise my biggest problem is building a new house. If I don't watch myself, I will end up with an upgraded kitchen and bathroom rather than a Scout.
