  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Off-topic stuff…

Yeah I never take my cars to the dealer for tires I just go to Discount Tire. Still, curious what the SOP is for those who get it done at the service center.

    Off-topic stuff…

They do but now I'm wondering something, how is the experience at a direct to consumer car brand like Tesla/Rivian/etc.? Surely they want to sell tires as well but I have no idea how that plays out at the service desk.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I'm not a fan of Wagoneer and let's be honest, "first to market" for that car actually means first to the rental car fleets.:D

I'm not so sure about Jeep's claim. The BMW i3 REx was America's first pure EREV available on the market so Jeep is wrong unless they're going for the meaningless "....that's made in America" subcategory of that statement in which case, yes gold star for them.

Sorry I meant I dark mode all the time on everything else I use, the Scout Forums is the only thing that isn't dark mode for me. Sucks being blasted by all this white/grey space here.

I dark mode all the time. So much easier on the eyes.

^Posting that reminded me of something...do these forums have a dark mode? Can't seem to find that setting anywhere.

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

I wanted to revisit this question and recompiled the list to live/active registrations then had it grouped by type w/ChatGPT.. With the understanding Scout employees read the forums and could easily prove/disprove this with one post, I think half of these are dead leftover from when these...

Question about Pedal Feel and Driving Characteristics

I live in the SF Bay Area and run into people from the automotive industry all the time. Yesterday I met a really nice guy who works at the Rivian-VW JV in Palo Alto, having moved over here from Germany working at one of the VW Group brands. Without spilling beans, yes I walked away from that...

Question about Pedal Feel and Driving Characteristics

Will there be more options than standard VW Group D and B modes? I think standard B mode is a good beginner level, but would love something more aggressive, especially while traversing mountain roads or towing. Speaking of towing, using regen mode while towing is amazing btw. In a weird way it...

Speaking of trademarks, I'd like to know what "Midnight Division" is. https://uspto.report/TM/99101126 Then there's all these names/slogans filed in 2023.. I don't remember much about Canoo as I've flushed them out of my memory, but I do recall being fully convinced the CEO was pulling a con job, same with Lordstown's CEO.

Package options - what would you like bundled?

From a content perspective, I continue to say Scout must meet or exceed what's offered on the cheaper 4Runner. A $55K 4Runner comes with a power liftgate, a $49K 4Runner comes with heated front seats, and a $40K 4Runner comes with a hitch. I expect Traveler to have all these things at the $60K...

I want to talk about those wheels on the Terra now that we have a very clear shot of them (thanks!). I'm assuming these are alloy wheels masquerading as steelies? It's a cool design

As someone who spent a lot of time in DFW, Scout will do very well in that market and I would expect a very high take rate of Harvester.
