  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Top is just the Terra from that barn picture at the beginning of this thread, although maybe Gemini made some adjustments to the green. The mushroom color is light ivory beige which is the traditional color for German taxis.

Since Scouts will be American cars with German roots, let's see what life in Germany would look like.

    Initial Production Release

Staggered launches aren't an issue so long as the stagger isn't crazy. Couple months, six months, sure. If it's a year plus then I'd call that problematic. On a personal level, I simply see any potential delays as extending the window of time for things to happen resulting in me choosing a...

There's really 2 Porsches these days: ICE and EV and the 911 falls squarely in the more traditional ICE category. The EV design stuff can, and hopefully will remain, specific to the EV mainstream cars like Taycan/Macan/Cayenne.

    EREV initial release only?

Sounds like the kind of guy who doesn't like Apple Jacks because they don't taste like apples. Doesn't matter what he thinks, people buy what they like and those things are hot sellers often going for above MSRP.

    EREV initial release only?

And they absolutely should. The G-Wagon is a money printer for Daimler and VAG has enough knowhow to build a competent product in the same segment with Scout's platform (or a modified version of it) being ideal.

As a former Texan I was reading this thinking they could only pull off a Truckle back in TX....and then I read that they debuted it at the State Fair in Dallas.

Yeah and that wasn't even by request, it took the liberty of adding them which is impressive. They look kinda loose but A+ effort and creativity. Honestly looking back at that picture I'm pretty happy with it. Whole thing is right on point and looks like an official still from a Bond movie. And...

    Ev Delay

Since this is a dedicated thread on this subject I'll add my 3 thoughts here.. 1. If rumors are true and a call had to be made, this is the right call given 80% of reservations are EREV. 2. If EREV is behind in development compared to BEV, then we could be looking at a delayed launch. This is...

    Ev Delay

New article that references the same Manager Magazin article as theautopian did at the top of this thread. Other than more editorials, nothing new really.

Looking at Jamie's pic of a Scout near the ocean, I wondered what it would look like in the ocean.

I do think a beige gold would work really well on these cars. The Traveler one is spot on.

The yellow, the white floating roof, those wheels in silver are definitely plausible for production.
