  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This topic comes up frequently, however I have to speak out on it from time to time just to get it off my chest. I wrote my state representative again last night and will continue to voice my opinion of DTC sales in SC until my new Scout is in my garage. Unfortunately, in South Carolina...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yes. I have followed that thread from the start. The pictures are plentiful and wonderful. I refer back to them frequently. I somehow overlooked the ones you re-posted here. Thanks again to you and your hubby.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Awesome..thanks @cyure ! This hints to me that the handle will be a bit high for comfort when cruising long distance and the angle appears to be vertical. This won't make me cancel my reservation, but you might see my point about the natural comfort of the Sequoia armrest. From an aesthetic...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

There are 2 features on my daily driver 2001 Sequoia that I love that I couldn't find specifically discussed in this forum. Armrest: The door armrest is a natural location to rest your arm with a handle grip perfectly angled for the hand and for those OS moments. The horizontal part of the...

    Harvester towing

I tow a flat bed trailer quite often. If I didn't own the trailer a pickup would be a necessity. I also must have a vehicle that will tow my boat and trailer which can weigh up to 4000 lbs with the contents and full tank of gas. I figure SM has more data than any one of us on general use cases...

    240V Outlet on Traveller

Personally, my use case would be for backup power for home and others if needed. I currently have a 120V gas generator that I can use to power most essentials through a transfer switch, however having 240V would be ideal. I am not interested in bidirectional charging. Maybe outside of the...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Wow! It appears there have been a vast number of accessories you can get now that weren't available when I had my dirt bike back in high school. About all I remember getting was a helmet, a few different sized sprockets and NGK spark plugs. BTW...NICE BIKE!

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

240VAC outlet on the Traveler is a feature I hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown. This is a very mysterious omission that I have not been able to find a solid answer. An example of how it could be used-emergency L2 charge your buddy's Scout with Harvester that ran out of battery...

    240V Outlet on Traveller

@Jamie@ScoutMotors What's the deal with the Traveler not getting a 240 VAC outlet? Can we get an official reason it wasn't consider for both the Terra and the Traveler? At least it should be an option on the Traveler. There are so many things that would make it useful as mentioned in the...

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

When you're right, you're right! If the direct to customer sales experience works out, there's a good chance 2 new Scouts would happen. We stopped Hyundai dealership a few weeks ago to look at their EV's. We took a ride in an Ioniq 9. My wife really liked it, but while the dealer wasn't bad it...

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

With all the back and forth about "do I get the Traveler or the Terra" and "Harvester or BEV", can you imagine what future choices will bring? I've already switched from Harvester to BEV Traveler and now secretly (shhhh.... Be very quiet) thinking I'll add a Terra reservation for my wife...
