  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Ha- yeah these Restobuilds have gotten out of hand the last few years. You'll have to do some serious searching in the couch cushions on this one!

Same—I’ve never seen one in person either. This one looks incredibly solid with great patina, and it appears to be all original. They’re very hard to find in this kind of condition. I check Marketplace regularly, but most are either too far away or well beyond restoration. The few I’ve seen that...

It'll be interesting to see what they bring to the table based off the drawing, I imagined it will be quite water downed from that drawing.

    1979 Scout II Tahitian Red

I concur, SM nailed the Tahitian Red color. Seeing it in person i couldn't imagine it being more perfect. I usually like to have vehicles of varying colors but at this point I'm opting to go old school Tahitian Red with the Scout II and modern take on the Traveler.

    1979 Scout II Tahitian Red

Granted the Bronco is on 35s with a 2 inch lift. The Scout is on 31s, not sure of the lift. Today is probably the last time I'll drive the Scout for the year but need to replace the tires which will be 33s.

Haha, it's one of those things that looks hideous but it's gorgeous. Personally, my favorite in the FJ lineup and can be had for a decent price still today. I keep a list of about 10 vehicles I'd like to own at some point in my lifetime, the Iron Pig has never left that list.

Welcome to the forum, I'd recommend checking out the thread "Color Poll" using the search feature, alot of got dialogue happening over there. In addition, follow @Jamie@ScoutMotors who helps keep us in line but most importantly provides regular updates within Scout Motors.

How Will Scout Keep Its Momentum Until 2027?

I think this is just it, keep attending auto shows and other large appropriate demographic events, release new tidbits that we're not aware of and present new colors along the way. As we get closer, I imagine we'll see more preproduction models outside of the two we're seeing now to expand the...
