  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

To be clear: I’d never judge someone who likes the vehicle (I only judge ct owners ;)). It’s just not for me.

That would be great. Especially if it’s just the right size to remove from the carrier and store in the frunk when necessary.

Since we wouldn’t buy the Harvester and we would run no larger than 33” tires for most or all of our driving, our spare would be under the vehicle.

Oh, that “backpack." I don’t buy branded accessories. But THAT would be an accessory purchase I would make.

I have so little interest in aesthetics that it would have to be supremely fugly for me not to buy it if it meets my needs. (To me that Crater is just terrible, but if it was the only thing that met my needs next time I need a vehicle, I’d buy it.) It’s the functionality that matters to me. If...

I only (partially) understand functional design. When it comes to aesthetic design, I haven’t got a clue. They definitely don’t want me in the design studio when they’re discussing aesthetics.

You should be able to do that without a problem.

I don’t think tariffs will lower prices. They never have before. Domestic prices just go up to just below the suddenly higher cost for imports. And all the back-and-forth just adds cost because of uncertainties.

    Jeep Recon

Yeah. There’s a truism that you package the best things with the higher-priced things so the customer upgrades to the next trim level up to get that one thing. Unfortunately, that’s so engrained in the automotive world that it would surprise me if we can order Scout options a la cart instead of...

    Early adopter lease, purchase hesitation

I think it would be great if Scout offered the BEVs with a 24 or 36 month 0% APR balloon payment loan and an option to trade in before paying the final balloon. This loan would come with a down payment, origination fees, etc., so it wouldn’t be Scout carrying all the risk. But it would give...

Our preference for the replacement of our Mustang, when the sad time comes (obviously it will have to be a BEV): Minivan with about 8 inches of clearance Wagon with about 8 inches of clearance SUV with about 8 inches of clearance The Scout makes the list at #3. There aren’t (m)any options at...

I don’t know what it serves on this concept vehicle. Such cables—when installed properly and in the right places—can protect the vehicle, its windshield, and other gear from low-hanging tree branches and brush that cover the trail. But most concept vehicles with these cables have them in...

That’s exactly what my thought was too. Except I would still dislike it. But then I don’t like Polaris or CanAm vehicles either.

Yeah, their wording is unclear: Starting at $65k and “as shown $65k” are not necessarily in conflict, but are also not necessarily in agreement. /shrug

Jeep says the starting price is $65k. So, yeah, not $67k, but not really all that much lower. I’m not sure where I pulled $67k.

    Jeep Recon

I hope the $67k base price of the Recon is simply because Stellantis is just out of its collective mind. That said, I’ve never understood the $60k price point as coming with a 350 mile range. I’ve always expected that the 350 mile range would come at a premium. But we still don’t know. I think...
