  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

I'd like that as long as everything on it is finalized. It would be disappointing if something was on a configurator that didn't make it to final production if it was something I was looking forward to.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I think adjustable pedals would be nice (similar to F-150). Sometimes I find if I get a good distance for my legs when driving then I'm reaching too far for the wheel even when that is adjusted outwards. Maybe I have a weird body shape or driving style but sometimes bringing the pedals out would...

Bigger Gas Tank - 15 Gallons is Abysmal

Added weight will affect range. If you're talking an added 60 pounds, it'll still affect range, would it be anything really noticeable over a long trip, not really. If you're talking large payloads then it'll start to have more of an impact. Now if it was 60 pounds of something on the roof which...

Bigger Gas Tank - 15 Gallons is Abysmal

I guess without knowing the full specs, it's difficult to know how much room there is going to be to have a larger tank, and if that changes any weight balance etc. Perhaps if there is room and it doesn't really make too much of a difference, then like on some trucks today, it could be an...

Bigger Gas Tank - 15 Gallons is Abysmal

I would argue the Terra isn't necessarily competing for all the same buyers as the Ramcharger or an ICE truck. There's overlap for those who use them as more family based cars, and who use it for work around town without needing to do long distance towing (thinking 100 miles a day in local area...

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

I assume that's exactly what RAM mean in terms of towing ability. Once the battery level is depleted it's not going anywhere, but it can tow max payload until that happens. I read that the battery in the Ramcharger is about 92kWh but the usable is only about 70kWh so with such a big buffer at...

    CCS and NACS

Aside from more and more chargers moving to NACS by the time Scout is released, I'm sure the cost of having two charging ports with different charging options if passed onto us as the buyer would be more than if we just bought CCS adapters if needed. I don't think many people will by 2027 and...

    Dog Friendly Features

    Ours like smooth jazz.

    Towing w/ Terra

I'm not sure the towing capacity (even on BEV only) is high enough to warrant a gooseneck. I read somewhere that the Ramcharger which has a much higher tow rating than the Terra will not have a gooseneck either. I'd probably stick with a HD pickup truck if towing something that requires a gooseneck.

    Where's everyone from? Part 1

I was just in Oregon and Washington and had the opposite and saw loads of Rivians there. I was only there for only a couple of days and saw more than I've ever seen living in PA. I was also in Alaska and saw an insane amount of Nissan Leafs there which was surprising.

    Will Scouts be Plug&Charge Compatible

I just hope if there is plug and charge, it can see if you have a plan with the charge point operator to lower the rates, rather than charge you the full amount. E.g. if you have the EA or Tesla subscription to lower the cost. I've seen some videos where it works if you do it manually, but if...

    Dog Friendly Features

I imagine it will probably do this anyway, but just to make sure, assuming that there is a state of charge limit to actually use the pet mode feature, e.g. 20% or more charge, make sure that once it is turned on, even if the charge goes below 20% (all the way down to 0%) it stays on, just in...

    Factory window tint

Depends on if it is a tint that has a high UV and heat rejection, I wouldn’t want just a basic tint that doesn’t do any of those things. Sometimes factory tints aren’t as good as aftermarket.

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

I really like both of them, although maybe by the time it comes out I’ll be bored of those two colors and want something different!

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

If you do by something like a Tesla to tide you over, I would just lease it so at least you don't have to worry about depreciation and can hopefully time it to expire as the Scout becomes available.

    Spare tire discussion

I've not seen any as standard. I found this picture of an aftermarket one. Not sure how I feel about it.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I imagine the vast majority of people who have EVs or have tried them will want to stick to them going forward. I'm also fairly certain if we'd had EVs for the last 100 years and gas cars were the new technology coming out today that the same people who are anti EV today would be anti gas in...

    Bed Area

Something like that would be nice. I will have my dogs in my truck, and their hair gets everywhere on carpets, so the easier to get that out the better. Not to mention if I'm getting in after being at the beach in sand or mud from a trail etc.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It definitely sounds interesting. There will certainly be time before Scout is released to include it if they want. I'm also on the fence if I would want this anyways. If your car has this Apple CarPlay Ultra, can you still choose to just run it as normal CarPlay alongside the cars normal UI? If...

    Combustion Engine

Not in general, but I assume if the gas keeps the state of charge at say 50%, if you kept going after the gas ran out and didn't fill up, then it would go back to using electric only until that runs out as well. Hopefully people wouldn't be doing that, but if there was a scenario where you cut...
