  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

We aren’t going to add fake engine noises to the vehicles as some articles and social posts imply. Instead we are pulling reference sounds from legacy scouts and nature to use in a variety of ways. We will have a bigger story and video about it in the future.

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

If we at Scout (and I) do our jobs right, the information you get here in the forums should be the same as the information you get at the autoshow. I really do try and tell you all the latest information. 😎

The Scout factory itself isn’t “mainly built off of state grants”. The State and County had to spend money to prepare the land and infrastructure (moving major electrical towers, building a rail connection including a rail bridge over a highway, building a new highway interchange, and moving...

We just announced a new HQ in Charlotte. We also just announced $300 million additional investment in a supplier park in addition to the $2 billion factory investment that’s ongoing. I can’t speak to VW Group overall financials but take automotive websites reporting on financial reports with a...

I don't know why Car Scoops thinks the vehicles we brought to LA Auto Show are closer to production examples. They are the same vehicles with different paint and new accessories. I've seen the current production mockups, and most people would be hard-pressed to spot very many differences. But...

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

Both trucks are displayed with their lights on all day at the show and they run off of a 12v battery, so we have to plug them in to avoid draining that battery.

    Ev Delay

This is another really big point that pains our engineers all the time. People don't read the manual and heed all the caveats and requirements for towing. They just hitch something up and take off.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Just to clarify, the Traveler wheelbase is shorter and the battery space is more limited than that of the pickup truck. That said, throwing more batteries at the pickup truck adds weight and cost and may not be the best solution for the market. The larger point is that we have more space to...

    Ev Delay

Couple of additional points to mention (at this stage). A very early cutaway/rendered image we showed had the gas tank up front. We have since moved it under the rear seat area (like typical vehicles) and that allows us to move the batteries to the front for better weight distribution as they...

    Warranty work with the Scout?

Studios and workshops will start construction before vehicle deliveries. All in good time. :D
