  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Ford model T moment vs Scout motors

Pickup truck. Not a crap. Uncomfortable cheapskate low range.. nightmare. Only a country mouse knows. Give me the RANGE and let me go. Nickel battery chemistry. 811 Nickel range.. give me the range.. and let me run.. not Chinese metropolitan City.

Ford model T moment vs Scout motors

It looks like Ford took another wrong turn. They should of went big truck with high nickel. Not small truck with LFP. Goofy Farley is driving Ford into the ground over there at Ford. No one's going to buy 100 mile range small pickup. They want big and long range.. comfortability. Terra will sell...

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

I look at my tire and I can see it's low. I hit washer fluid button and it doesn't work. Fill it up later. These sensors are rippoff. We need a base model.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The creative director at Scout Motors needs to step down. (I don't believe in tattoos). I put my art on a something more appropriate. Stevie Ray Vaughn was a better guitar player that Jimmy Hendrix, but was he more creative? I personally don't think he was more creative but look at him go.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'd like a new video commercial on the scout motors YouTube channel of the Terra being tough and take no BS mean.. not heritage heart warming. It needs to conquer nature.. not be.. golly g.. I made it through nature with a high five. Something with balls. Make a guy respect the star athlete...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Some kind of mechanical huge lever to engage and disengage the 4x4 on the outside of the vehicle.

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

You are getting fat on laziness not technology. They can design it, the way they want. Brain washed. They make the matrix.. make you pay. It's not a .. "oops gee golly ". They have the data to drain your pockets. On off switching at the hub will save you a repair. Heh

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

3 year is out of warranty. The doom is coming. They can program obsolescence the failure. It's not like the ole shucks days of the past. The limiting factor is the mouse traps. 4x4 engagement is a fancy boy thing. You pay. It's not engine miles. Battery miles. Program obsolescence. You pay for...

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

You guys are too hard on me. I'm sorry for that tennis post.. it just popped into my brain. My neighbor thinks he's king crap because he bought manual locking hubs at O'Reilly Auto. He says anything electric is dog doodie. It will fail and when it does.. you will pay more. A money trap. A lever...

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

I'll buy one but 10-15 years later I'll have to buy a 4x4 shift module/motor apprehensively. I own a rain jacket and gloves.. boots.. things like that. I paid for already.

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

Shovels. Gravel roads. Knowledge to know when to use 4x4 and when to know you're being fooled. R1TVT.. base is base. Engagement. Front back whatever

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

Well my neighbor is adamant on manual hubs because of vacuum leaks which engage it on ice vehicle... But electric means another electric motor.. which means more fail.. more expensive.. more depressing when it does fail. There is a man principle at stake for manual engagement as well. Base...

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

Yes cyrue. Everyone knows 4x4 is kind of a gimmick. They want to sell you the idea.. they've been selling the idea for decades. There are many articles and data on the subject. A real farm truck is 2wheel drive with a tough frame and truck bed.. stake pockets to heighten the carry capacity with...

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

I believe the standard for a tough reliable, long lasting EV has not converged on an ideal yet. Manual locking hubs on an EV, I believe would be part of this build. Slate has manual windows.. some frunks don't have auto lift. I think manual cuts cost and less points of failure. Now days people...
