  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Also makes loading stuff into your car through the fully open doors WAY easier. I love my full 90deg second row.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Why would the companies not just charge more for the vehicles?

VW cash flow issues affect Scout?

Already have an alert for the last week of April!

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

He posted an unedited version of that impact on his twitter, and it looks like he accidentally grabs the steering wheel right before the impact with the "wall" so technically speaking he disengaged autopilot. However, even if Autopilot was working AND detected the "Wall" it would not have been...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Yeah after the first test he switched to using Autopilot on everything because its far more conservative.

Scout Motors Proactive Measures to Reduce Consumers' EV Auto Insurance?

I might be totally incorrect but I think that Rivian and Tesla having their own insurance is helpful for their lease programs as well? So in that case at least for the first 5 years of Scout's production life I think it would be a great idea.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Honestly, I pay around $75/month right now for gas (shoutout Costco and having a very walkable neighborhood), but if I have to pay over $150/month for gas (which for me means that my cars MPG would have to drop into the sub-20 range and/or I would have to use premium) I would riot.

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

Don't threaten me with a good time, I will cause safety incident

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

To be entire honest I only ever use OnX BackCountry for "Oh shit" navigation moments where I need an offline map where I am hiking (or in the case of OnX Offroad when I am driving down a service road to where I am hiking). I have never really used it for any hard core route following. Mostly...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

As much as I love my Iphone....God can Apple Maps SUCK sometimes. I recently switched back to a "Google-based" system (Waze was bought in 2013 by Google). And it is so much better at turn-by-turn work. However for offline maps I still use OnX and Google Maps

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

All I can remember about my parents and using a paper map is all of the times I was late to soccer games for no reason other then they missed an exit because they had to drive and not look down lol

How do you guys think I am funding my Scout? Catch me wandering through basements in abandoned cul-de-sacs.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

For a bunch of cars with this capability I know that Waze works the same as CarPlay. Additionally I know for 2023(?) Volvo's it only worked when you used Android Auto/Google Maps (Their Operating system is AA based)

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Having a HUD is a huge + in my opinion. Anything that keeps my eyes on the road is super helpful. I was recently driving the new GMC Yukon Denali and having to glace down at its massive vertical screen for directions was so annoying. Having the HUD having a limited and "barebones" direction...

    Backseat Legroom SUV

I would be a bit surprised if the Scout has poor legroom. If not for anything but the fact that its wheelbase is roughly Tahoe size (.5" smaller) and it has the "EV Layout/Packaging"

Swore I’d never buy an EV, then Scout happened

Another note to add to all of this is American companies are *in general* not doing to great in Europe (example link - Ford Europe is also cutting down the Focus and Fiesta production to near nothing or nothing - Tesla is being beaten like a rented pinata and jeep is.....jeep)) I think in...

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

Call me crazy, but I think baring drive train (due to it being an EV or EREV) most the car will be just as capable of being modified or repaired as other cars.

I will be calling someone for nearly everything I guess because I am a "Beta Male" whatever that means
