  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Future Proof Remote Connectivity

I fully support being upgradeable in this regard, but I'd also like the connection to be physically defeatable. My privacy and personal information is more important to me than having the vehicle connected to anything, and while Scout has touted privacy and not selling our information in the...

    Keep the weight down please

I had no idea if the gaps were due to being a crappy car or something else, haha. I don't care for the gigacastings from an insurance cost and repairability perspective. Too many vehicles seem to be getting totaled when one of these huge cast parts are damaged, even minimally, in an accident.

    SAFETY RATING - COLLISSION PHISYCAL

Seems easier to just come out of the dash above the screen. This is how my FJ Cruiser works on the passenger side. Airbag panel faces up, but the airbag comes out and over the dash hump and down towards the passenger's knees.

    Keep the weight down please

Saw an old Saturn on the road this past weekend (maybe the last one still driving??) and it was still looking surprisingly good with its plastic body panels. With sheet metal on most all new vehicles being comically thin, I wouldn't be opposed to plastic or composite panels of some kind.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

While I'm dreaming, I'd like a high-res infrared thermal camera that does a full-windshield heads-up overlay while driving at night... :ROFLMAO:

    North Carolina Scouts

Excellent questions, any chance you have the bill number? I'm curious if Scout will even qualify as an EV company to start with and how the Harvester option changes the equation. The specific wording will matter a ton. I'm still concerned with service centers. Rivian is supposed to get some...

    Amateur radio antenna mount

Out of curiosity, do EVs pose interference issues with CB or ham radios? I've noticed a lot of EVs don't come with AM radios due to interference issues from what I've read, but I've never looked into it.

Should Scout Motors consider a remake of the 1981 Scout SSV? A Scout SSV For the Future

Too close to the proposed Rivian R3X and/or a reimagined Yugo, but I do kinda like the Rivian, so I wouldn't mind seeing some design sketches...

    North Carolina Scouts

Traveler Harvester, also Triad area. I also just sent my NC representatives an email about the proposed SC legislation to allow direct-to-consumer sales for companies with no existing dealership presence. Might be worth it for more potential buyers to do the same.

    South Carolina Bill- H. 3777

I just sent my representatives here in NC an email with a link to the SC legislation in hopes of working around the dealership lobbying groups as I like this idea. If passed, it gives direct-to-consumer sales a foothold in the state, and hopefully that'll expand in the future. While I'm not a...

    Audio System Brand Poll 2.0

Save the royalty fees and put in a simple system that sounds good with standard speaker sizes. I'd prefer fewer high-quality speakers over 38 crappy speakers. Also, knowing the deeper bass will suck like it does in ALL OEM systems, please give me an easy full-range signal somewhere to tap for...

Consumer Freedom and Scout Motors in South Carolina

Would love to see this happen in NC too. The dealer-lobby groups are strong in this state, and I want to see them knee-capped so hard that people forget the name Tonya Harding.

December 2024 Scout Production Center Construction Update

"Crews have now moved more than 16 million cubic yards of dirt and continue grading" That's a lot of dirt! I hope they're making an incredible off-road park while they're moving all that dirt...

    QR Code Stickers For Repairs

The history of QR codes goes back to inventory controls, so having a code on each part for inventory and assembly purposes could be helpful for Scout as well. I love the idea of removal/repair instructions, but on other parts, just being able to scan it and the app pulling up a part number...

    Accessories Poll For Scouts

Optional masks/grills/lights for the front and rear. I recognize the regulatory hurdles, but I'd love to be able to choose from different styles when ordering, or buying another after the fact. Kinda like the new Land Cruiser offering two different lighting/grill looks, but make them...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Air-cooled flat-6 using old 911 castings, haha. No coolant plumbing needed either way, and with no water pump, power steering pump, A/C compressor, etc, it's a compact package. Pretty much just an engine with a big fan on one end and a generator on the other.

1,000+ reservations take rate stats: Harvester vs. Full-EV and Traveler vs. Terra

So we mix German and Detroit engineering and give it to the good ol' boys in SC to build. What could go wrong? :ROFLMAO:

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

I'd definitely be running non-ethanol gas in mine, likely with STA-BIL in there when I'm not anticipating longer trips. Being a sealed system unlike mowers, blowers, etc, gas will stay fresher longer with or without ethanol, but I wouldn't chance it.
