  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    actual ranges before orders?

Makes sense to me as the driver of a manual transmission. I typically downshift to slow down before using regular brakes. I do NOT do that in icy/snowy conditions though as it upsets everything and you can easily lose control/traction. In those cases, I want to use the brakes like as gently...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Getting close to finishing off the small basement workshop area and finally installed the lights!

What would your last vehicle be if you had to decide today

I'm gonna have to go with the HSV ClubSport R8 Tourer LSA, with the MANUAL transmission, in orange. A close second would be an orange CT5 Blackwing with bronze wheels also with a manual transmission.

    0-60 times with harvester

A good offense is as important as a good defense. I've used acceleration a number of times to avoid accidents, likely saving injuries and lives over my million+ miles of driving. It's the same reason I buy the most premium-handling tires and run the best quality brake pads/rotors on my...

    0-60 times with harvester

I daily drive a sedan with a 0-60 in the low-4s, and frankly, it could use notably more power. The car has the brakes and handling to back up that power, but frankly, these stupid-fast electric SUVs/trucks generally don't and I find them irresponsible as such. With that said, back to the...

    Luxury Pacific Mist

Unless you drive a truck. Nowadays, all of them have huge, stupid lettering stamped into the sheetmetal. I hope that trend dies a slow, painful death as I typically run debadged.

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

I still can't fathom paying MSRP for something, and that's the downside for DTC sales. I can't negotiate and I can't shop around. If I wanted a new Land Cruiser, I would've had to pay a premium above MSRP in the not-so-distant past, but now I can get one at $6k+ under MSRP. I much prefer the...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I'd be really curious how much of this is driven by small business vs private individuals. I see so many people with small businesses buying the more expensive trucks/vehicles, but I don't see anywhere near as many individuals doing so. Can't blame them, the tax structure promotes it, but I'd...

February 2025 Scout Production Center Construction Update

Better hurry up and get some skin on that building so you can insulate. It'll start to turn into a really humid oven in about a month!

    Removable Rear Seats

Meanwhile, my 60-lb rugrat can carry seat pieces out of my Toyota since seat bottoms and seat backs are separate pieces for each side. I've moved some of those third row contraptions before though, and they're not user-friendly. I suspect your second row was even heavier!

    Built-in hydraulic or electric jacks

I'm trying to figure out if this is a statement or a question! :ROFLMAO: I've had good luck with electric trailer jacks, so I can definitely see the appeal of the OPs idea. Instead of building four in, maybe pre-wire four outlets near four recessed, reinforced pockets in the frame and provide...

    Removable Rear Seats

Great, smaller seats for me to remove when needed! Wouldn't want to strain my back! :ROFLMAO:

    Removable Rear Seats

Just do both for ultimate flexibility with seat bottoms and seat backs being foldable or removable separately. Instead of bolts to remove the seats, use large hand knobs so special tools aren't required. With 60/40 or 70/30 split, you'd have four removable pieces, so you have the option of...

    Sunglass holder

Probably good for break-ins too as I doubt many criminals are looking for something up there, especially if it's well hidden by the manufacturer.

    Sunglass holder

I drive, uhh, assertively, and I often drive with the windows open. My sunglasses would be on the side of the road somewhere... :ROFLMAO:

    Sunglass holder

With the vertical dashboard shape, I'd like to see a second glovebox for the driver's side like my FJ has, above the steering wheel on the flat portion of the dash. Not huge, but really handy.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

But this is the speculation thread, haha. I agree, it'd have to be on its side. The original renderings show the engine behind the axle and I think it'll have to be there to allow the solid rear axle some room for uptravel. There's not enough space directly above for an EA or a flat-4. Too...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Quick picture, to scale. Red line is the cargo load floor while the rectangle is an EA888 (with oil pan for now).
