  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Experience Center locations

I think Lancaster PA would be perfect for an experience center based on how you've described it! :ROFLMAO:

Did Your City Receive 2025 Grant Funds To Build Charging and Refueling Infrastructure?

I think there should be some consideration into just offering 110V outlets at a lot of apartment parking spaces in these large cities. The people in them are most probably not doing large commutes out of the city every day so it would be a cheaper way to allow people like this to get 10-12 kW of...

    Blythewood, SC EV Charging Stations?

At least there are fast chargers in the cities north and south of Blythewood so that's something for anyone in the area. I would think Scout would have some chargers on site (even if not open public chargers) for anyone picking up or for demo rides etc.

    Cloth seats

I don't like cloth seats, my wife's old car had cloth seats and they got ruined with stains from our dogs. The leather or faux leather seats can be just wiped down and look good as new again. We do tend to use dog covers but sometimes dirt still gets through. Same for any general spillages etc.

    VW ID.7 Pro S covers 585 Miles (941 km)

What was the speed for that? I saw 29 kilometers on the dash, was that the average speed? If so that's only 18 mph. I'm pretty sure I could get my Tesla Model 3 close to 600 miles in good temperatures at that steady speed.

    Ideas for Scout Engineers

Just make sure it’s proper sensors for the rain sensing wipers and not a camera based system like Tesla that doesn’t work properly.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

I’m assuming it would just be on all the time, keeping the battery level as best as possible immediately from a high state of charge, rather than waiting until the battery gets to a lower percentage before kicking on.

December 2024 Scout Production Center Construction Update

I’ve seen a couple, one black wrapped. I kind of like seeing them but I like seeing others with them, wouldn’t actually want it myself!

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Yes, but on the harvester model, I don’t see that happening on the ev only part, it’d need the gas generator to do round trip. EV only will no problem.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

In that case, definitely no way without using the Harvester, even if they did up the range on the EV portion a decent amount. Would be doable in the EV only version though.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Depending on where is S Utah, it's around 120 miles from Vegas to St. George so might be doable if you start the trip at 100% and charge back to 100% before leaving without needing the harvester. Would be very close though I suspect.

    3 Years

I think they'll just do a limited number of deliveries at the end of 2027 to meet the goal of 2027. I have a feeling that most of us will be getting our Scout in 2028 but that's just my thought.

Scout shows off the UX at CES!

I think VW actually might offer that (not 100% certain). The combo can be good, for example, if you've been skiing you might be cold but also a little sweaty so the ventilated seats are good for the sweat but the heat also helps keep you warm on your back.

Scout shows off the UX at CES!

I also like that it appears based on that image, that the heated seats can be on at the same time as the ventilated seats.

    Longer Range battery option

Yeah, I would guess to get close to a 600 mile range EV for these kind of trucks, you'd be needing around a 270kW battery pack which would be very heavy and very expensive if it would even fit. I think the 350 mile range should be enough for most people day to day and with a fast charging curve...

    Scout Motors at CES 2025

Just watched the out of spec video and that was great as well. Glad to see the pet mode is included, that was a must have for me. Still hoping for some ceiling ac vents in the rear for production to make it perfect. Was good to see Kyle sitting in the rear seats to get an idea of legroom as...

Scout shows off the UX at CES!

I enjoyed the video and seeing the UX design (albeit I'm sure subject to change) was great. It was nice to see there's a one pedal mode, and I really like the general layout and how you can move different items on the screen between driver and passenger. Also great to see it looks like there...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I think they just used radar rather than LIDAR in those cars. Although I believe even some of the cars that had radar have that feature disabled now to use vision. I believe some of the cars that had radar have it disabled now to use vision only.

    Drive-Inn Theater Mode

Assuming there will be some kind of outside speaker for reversing noise etc. then a way to have the radio play from the outside when parked would be good too. Would be really nice for either drive in scenarios, or tailgating or just general hanging outside with friends etc.

    Suggestion: Autonomous Driving Mode

Agreed, I have a Tesla, I don't have the FSD but I did get a couple of 30 day trials of it and while it is impressive, it's not as good as a normal person driving and can make some wrong decisions or be very slow at junctions and stop signs. All I'd really like is good lane centering with...
