  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

How is it that you, the self-admitted non-white-collar worker, knows more about what white collar workers can and can’t do than the actual white collar workers here who know and work with a whole bunch of other white collar workers? I don’t think I will trust you.

Now why be rude to people? I’m a scientist which I believe counts as white collar. I have: Installed the new sink in my kitchen Tiled the kitchen backsplash Replumbed the bathroom and kitchen Replaced two toilets Re-wired the laundry room so I could relocate the dryer Built a set of...

It’s a link. The forum does a very bad job of indicating links

I don’t understand that statement. They set up a fund of X amount of dollars. The program would end in March of 2025 or whenever X dollars were spent. I don’t see how that relates to what you’re saying here

    So, March. Not September

I don’t see any reports of that happening. I see where their program ran out of funding so it ended in January instead of March (it was planned to end in March or whenever it ran out of funds) but that’s the only one I see.

This is VW Canada and is available only in Canada. I don’t think the loss of the US tax credits did that

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

I might be tempted. I currently have a 3 row and it’s nice to have the extra space for packing or for picking up thrift store finds or building materials and also nice to have extra seats when we’re visiting family so we can all ride together to go out. But the change in price would be the...

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

For my regular glasses I’ve updated a few times. Just hasn’t been bad enough to interfere with driving mostly

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

I bought my prescription oakleys in 2002 for $600 and just update the prescription when it’s changed enough that it interferes with reading the mileage (only once so far). I use them for driving and for running and would definitely not be able to run in the over the glasses ones. They’d bounce...

It seems like most of those 0% offers also expire at the end of the month. It’s not replacing the EV discount but adding to it because they worry about selling them after the discount is gone. It will be interesting to see what they do with the unsold ones after the end of the month.

    Off-topic stuff…

My dad did that to one of his old Case tractors (not the ones that he takes to shows but the beat up one that he uses). He also added a radio and wired in some headphones. It’s pretty tricked out for a 1950s tractor

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

I’m lucky enough to not be considered essential (although since they’re trying to say we’re national security now that might change). Your situation sucks and the contractors get it even worse. Fingers crossed for us all

I’ll get paid eventually but that’s bumping up against my savings cushion unfortunately

    What was your first car?

I’ve gotten the flex up to 100 but it wasn’t thrilled about it. Seems like 90-95 is about the most it’s comfortable with (at least with the condition of the roads I’m on)

I'm going to try to gas light myself about batteries and range

Ilya is bigger than everyone. He was about 18 pounds last time we went to the vet. We also have a dog that loves all the cats and especially loves kittens. His name is Dewey and they all like to snuggle with him.

And saved for last is the grumpy old man who is probably the father of at least some of the ones in my house. I can't tell you his name because the auto-censor keeps changing it. He earned it when he first came to the house because he was chasing that feral mom around until she was so tired...
