  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Dynamic Power Management

I had an electrician add a 240v, 50A breaker for a Level 2 charger and since I seldom expect to need to charge and go again, I usually limit charging to no more than 10A but then I'm only charging a 17KWH battery in my PHEV. That's for now as I don't need more.

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Absolutely. I like the way KIA/Hyundai have implemented this, though my Sportage PHEV will still turn on the ICE while coasting at times I don't want it to.

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

So my Sportage PHEV has an actual transmission, not a CVT variant, and on a steep enough descent, like the I-25 mountain pass from Raton, NM to Trinidad, CO, I control my downhill speed in the 70-80mph range with the paddle shifters for the most part. The battery is charging 95% of that...

Harvester - Request to allow it to charge battery while parked & a 30-40amp/240v outlet

At ~ 15:40 and ~20:20 they talk about charging, bi-directional charging and off grid battery uses, i.e., camping and such. With a Harvester that would be fantastic! It will likely provide a lot more than my home back up battery can provide @ 19.5 KWH.

Harvester - Request to allow it to charge battery while parked & a 30-40amp/240v outlet

It is stated that it will have bi-directional charging which is great!

Harvester - Request to allow it to charge battery while parked & a 30-40amp/240v outlet

I think thhis is a great idea though it would need to be stressed that the vehicle would have yo be parked outside when doing so. Ford Lighnings have this capabily to interface with a home with the proper house inteface to power a home, but didn't have the ICE to worry about. This was...

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

I've been driving a Sportage PHEV for a couple years. It's really no sweat. Knowing the avalible settings for the displays, drive modes etc could be done with videos. I knew more about my PHEV from YouTube vids than the dealers did for the 10 mos. I was shopping for it and had it all configured...

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

I would deinately be a differant and fun kind of road trip back to Albuquerque. Count me in for those going West.

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

Scout did say 150, but I would settle for 100. Anything less is a deal breaker for me.

100-150 mile EV range for the Harvester.

The aftermarket will be flooded with these types of add-ons.

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

That echos my experiance trying to buy a RAV4 Prime. The New Jersey dealers seemed to want to work with me, but when it came down to actually oredering what I wanted, it was more like, " you should get most of what you want," without actually garunteeing me what I wanted to order. Really...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

Had't seen this thread before... I'm presuming this is meant for things that are 'built into the vehicle, and not something easily added after purchase. 1. Tow Kit with integrated trailer braking 2. Cargo area modular cargo and pet kit locking/rail system 3. Heat Pump system for heating and...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Yah I figured. It makes the body look too tall/thick in white. When they add all the final colors and pieces that will go away but I don't think I've ever seen an all white model

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

The white side steps/bars make it look chunky. Don't think they'll really do that. It would be a daily cleaning item. I really like the interior shot of the Terra! It that hemp wood?

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yes. I'll likely mount a radio or two and that woulfd be handy
