  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

ICE To EV. 2019 Tundra to 2023 F150 Lightning Lariat.

Some thoughts so far after 3 days or so of having the Lightning: Its, quiet, fast, smooth, and a technological marvel. I'm sure there are other more advanced vehicles out there, but for someone coming from a 2019 Tundra, this thing is amazing. I'm still blown away at how I can leave my house...

ICE To EV. 2019 Tundra to 2023 F150 Lightning Lariat.

Thanks for all the great advice! I remembered seeing one of your posts in another thread about the tire pressure, so I went out and checked them today. They were all around 35 PSI. The door tag recommends 42 PSI. I brought them all up to 45 PSI. Do you think there will be a big difference...

ICE To EV. 2019 Tundra to 2023 F150 Lightning Lariat.

No issues with that, but I forgot to mention that I didn't use one pedal driving on the way home because it's highway driving and I didn't want to have any issues with trying to learn in heavy traffic on the highway. Thinking about it more, that probably contributed to my not great efficiency...

ICE To EV. 2019 Tundra to 2023 F150 Lightning Lariat.

I finally got my first EV on Saturday. There is a dealer in NH called Greenwave Electric Vehicles that sells used EVs and PHEVs. Greenwave is unlike any car dealership I have ever experienced in that they are a values driven company that actually has the customer's best interest in mind, not...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I don't think it slides, but I haven't tried. There's a folding tonneau cover on the bed, and if the rack slid back it would probably be in the way of opening the tonneau cover.

Well, I joined the EV club yesterday! 2023 F150 Lightning with 24k miles. Bought it in NH and took my two older daughters on a road trip to pick it up. The dealer was only about 10 minutes from Hampton Beach, so we got up there a couple hours before the appointment to pick up the truck and...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It all hinges on whether SC changes their anti DTC law or not. After watching that hearing in the SC legislature eatlier this year that Cody Thacker and several others attended, it sure looked to me like the dealer lobby has a tight stranglehold on the legislature.

    What was your first car?

My first car was a 1975 Mustang II (yes, the ugly body style) with a 302 V8 and automatic. I bought it from an older gentleman who did not know much about cars. It was running so rough, he thought the engine was blown and sold it to me for $100. It had 131,000 miles on it and he had never...

I'm going to try to gas light myself about batteries and range

How about bunnies? My wife raises Holland Lop and Mini Plush Lops. This is one of our pets named Winston. He's my buddy. Laziest rabbit I've ever seen. Sleeps most of the day.

    2025 NYC photo-measurement requests

It took a lot of patience to get those ones with nobody in them. Most of the time there were people swarming all over it.

Ok, my turn. I was in NY on Friday but only getting a chance to post these now. Some might be duplicates of what J already posted. Let's see whose phone has a better camera.

Welcome to the forum! I hear you about the extra range, but the other thing to consider is the additional maintenance and possible repair costs for the gas generator. If, like you said, the Harvester is not necessary for your driving habits/use case I would probably go BEV and skip the...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I should have specified that I was referring to the plastic panel on @SpaceEVDriver Lightning, not the Scout. He was trying to fit a fridge in the frunk of the Lightning and I had that idea as I looked at his pictures. It probably wouldn't give enough clearance though.

Removing the plastic inner panel on the underside of the frunk lid wouldn't give you enough clearance, would it? How thick is that plastic panel?

Scout Concepts in New York City September 18-19, 2025

I took PTO from work on the 19th. I need to see if my kids can get out of school for the day. If so, we might make a day of it and see other sights in the city, as well as seeing the Scout. I'll update when I have confirmation one way or the other.
