  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

So I have a some more photos to share over time of the new Terra. I'll start with a couple behind behind-the-scenes photos from the photoshoot in California. Here is one of the camera rigs we use for video capture. Our very own Chris Stahl is usually behind the camera controls. This vehicle...

    An Appreciation Post for Jamie

We are about to bring someone big into the forums to answer some questions. We just wanted to make sure you can be heard... :D

Apple CarPlay ULTRA for Scout: A Game Changer for Infotainment?

Car Play and Android Auto are a support consideration because there are 4 billion phones out there and the average person spends 4 hours per day on their phone. If they want to continue/extend that use to their car, then we should support that. But if you don't want to use it, you don't have to.

    An Appreciation Post for Jamie

I appreciate the call out. There are times when it probably isn't worth debating, as I understand everyone has a different viewpoint (especially in today's divided world). I don't expect people to drink the Cool Aid. It is also unfortunate that EVs have become political, as it really is...

Taking bets on the new color of the Traveler Concept to be seen soon...

There might be a teaser of the color going out soon... :D And not to burst bubbles, but it isn't in the Red/Orange/Yellow/Green spectrum.

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

In Germany, our head of design Chris Benjamin did a design presentation (his starts at 42 minutes). I can't find a you tube link yet, but you can find the design presentation here: https://www.volkswagen-group.com/en/iaa-mobility-2025-19395#recording-of-past-livestreams

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I was thinking the same thing when I read the CATL LFP piece. 470 miles in what vehicle?
  8. Jamie@ScoutMotors

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

We are at a point where we have Tesla models with first-generation battery technology that are pushing into their 15th year of age. Battery life is affected less by physical age, but rather what kind of life the battery had (charged with high-capacity superchargers often versus at home charging...

59 Months (and counting) of EV driving...

And to clarify, I'm not confirming LFP batteries at this point. Just saying if that were the case (as an example) you would charge a little differently.

59 Months (and counting) of EV driving...

Yes, if Harvester is using LFP batteries, then it makes more sense to plug in every night to 100%. I do think after a short while you won't even think about it with the Harvester because you know you can fall back on using the generator. In my case with a full battery electric vehicle, I don't...

    0-60 times with harvester

This. My current company car is an Audi Q6 eTron quattro (basically a mid-size SUV) and it does 0-60 in about 4.5 seconds. I've owned motorcycles throughout my life, and a sport bike/super bike will reset your expectations on acceleration forever. That said, my Q6 is *way* more than adequate at...

4 cylinder Ford ranger 2.3 ranger vs terra

It is definitely not a typical alternator.

59 Months (and counting) of EV driving...

For me, plugging the car in each night like my cell phone has become routine. It is really more about the trip's length and whether you need to stop. I recently took a trip from Chicago to Detroit for work and could have made it there without charging, but I would have cut it close. Plus, I...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

These are a variation of side steps that are a bit more functional than the side skirts on the original Terra concept. These aren's specifically designed to be rock sliders.

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

This is a concept. I don't think 37" tires are currently in the plan, but you never know. The roof rack, side steps and cargo box are all considerations for future accessories. Overall this is a concept designed to get reaction and feedback. We are still working on trim and model lines.

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Don't read too much into the color of those yet. They updated them with color-adjustable LEDs and they aren't always consistent. I'd say to expect them to be a warm LED color but not so close to orange.

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

The first vehicles shown at reveal are not base trim models. They had psuedo offroad package looks with the 35" tire set up. Upper console switches aren't significantly different...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

As we have been talking about for a while now, the Terra recently underwent some surgery to get a fresh new color and a retheme. This predominantly green color has a heavy gold metallic and looks different depending on how the sun hits it - sometimes more gold, sometimes more green. Exterior...

    Harvester towing

Great breakdown. Just for fun is there a similar one page document for the standard F150 to compare with the Lightning?
