  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

My only thought if I’m going pessimistic is I hope if there is a change in direction and EREV is the primary-let those of us planning BEV know sooner than later so we don’t wait for 2 years to be disappointed

My hunch is taking out the BEV talk takes away any negative press for the EV haters. The next cabinet and president could swing everything right back around so it’s a yo-yo situation that we just have to watch and react to carefully

    I agree.

But again, if EREV is behind by 4 months (guessing obviously) why let a $2 billion dollar factory sit empty when you could produce the BEV orders at a pace that lets you spool up and be at full capacity when the EREV is ready and then you are also generating cash flow. I don’t see a business...

We were out to dinner about 3-4 weeks ago and watched a car get repossessed in the parking lot and that guy was in and out in no time. Nice Lexus RX

I could see $2500 more. It’s not a deal breaker to most and you are paying to get the extended range so there is a tangible element to this scenario that has to be considered

That extra cost also covers the extra R &D that was added-and the extra engineers, to create it so ideally-$2000 per EREV covers costs and gets them out of the red much quicker

There’s a fine line for sure but desirable things always cost a bit more. And we are back to a discussion about free market. Same can be said about BMW’s-same parts and pieces but 10% more (or higher with the global tariffs)

Supply and demand. I remind people in my industry-majority of tile is porcelain and made the same so why is one tile $1.99/s.f. And another $12.99/s.f. And the answer is that -want/desire or which is more emotionally appealing!

    Scout Traveler/Terra RC Rock Crawler?

Always funny what kids find or see that flips their button for dreading to delightful

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Welcome if I missed you. Enjoy the forum

September 2025 Scout Motors Factory Update

I agree. And selfishly-since most of the original members were looking for BEV before the surprise EREV announcement at the reveal I would feel better knowing they introduce it. I’m also convinced if BEVs come first some on the fence would take the leap to BEV and the BEV take rate would grow...

How would you build your Scout?

That’s how the new blue felt on the traveler in NYC. Showed the body lines completely different

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

What I don’t get in the article is they imply VW is hemorrhaging money so instead of ramping up the Scout with the BEV’s they should sit around and wait 4-6 months longer until the EREV is ready. That makes no sense to me. Start the BEVs, get the production ramped up so as soon as EREV’s are...

Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

Another thread has been discussing it-under the Extra, extra thread where most new-news articles get posted. No problem listing here but most the members land new articles there since we all look for them there. But thanks for posting it

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Engineers and architects come up with some of the best nerdy events and I love them. Worked at a place that did egg drops from the second floor with assemblies around them to prevent crushing

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

Thanks for sharing that info. My brain hurts absorbing it but I love members who understand things I don’t
