  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

If my $600 robot vacuum can have LiDAR, I don’t see why a $60k truck can’t too.

It is true though. That coating prevents rock chips, which is how rust typically starts.

I assumed it was a proof of concept and some type of support vehicle. Would actually make sense for rally’s and long distance races if a team is running a pure BEV.

The most interesting part to me was that they took the 3rd row out, which kind of negates the entire point of choosing a mini-van. I get people needing space for camping gear, but the 3rd row folds flat into the floor already.

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

One thing I would like to know is if Scout will be offering air at all 4 corners, or if its rear only like mine. Being able to use all 4 will give it even more range and flexibility when it comes to leveling for car camping. You could in theory park on a more aggressive slope or on larger rocks...

    Recline flat rear bench

There is truth to this. I have passed out many a time in my Kelty loveseat after a few rounds of Fireball by a campfire and felt like a million bucks the next day lol If I am sober on a trip I am much more finicky and need my Thermarest, sleeping bag liner, and inflatable pillow at a minimum.

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

Haha. Youve got a point there. I mean it isnt for everyone but I love it. Up until now its been trouble free. Yeah even though they only have airbags in the rear they do level front and back, side to side. Each side of the rear axle has its own leveling arms that can independently adjust...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

I can’t, but the vehicle can. I can only select three levels of ride height. Each bag is controlled independently by the factory air system. If I park on an off camber hill it levels the vehicle front and back, and side to side. So it works great for car camping like you are talking about...

    Recline flat rear bench

That sounds awesome. Our Lexus GX’s and Land Cruisers had forward folding, and reclining rear seats. The kids love the reclining feature on longer trips.

Internet and cell service went down for a while last night. When it came back up I had the invoice in my inbox. Got the long travel air bag kit coming! I love Australian companies. Their customer service is way more in depth and they pay attention to details. They contacted Dobinsons to...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

Heavier trims typically mean lower payload capacity. Taking one passenger out of the equation still means decent cargo capacity. Captain chairs aren’t exclusive features and can often be optioned on the lowest trim too. So I’m confused too.

Package options - what would you like bundled?

I don’t think the seats are it dude. They aren’t wildly different between the Lariat and King Ranch trims. I think the fancier fold flat seats are still optional on the Platinum super duties when I looked so you could theoretically still add a jumper instead of a center console. Toyota doesn’t...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

In the roadmap I looked at there will be far less of them produced for the first few years. They plan to ramp up over time to build the demand and rapport with the market. There will be a 3 row model a few years after the Terra and Traveler launch. Most likely a Travelall. So they would be...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

All the high trim super duty trucks don’t have a bench seat option. InFords it stops at the Lariat trim, but you can’t option it on Platinums, King Ranch, or Limited packages. They told me they can’t custom order them either. (It’s also a PITA to swap the center console for a jump seat with AC...
