  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What are you driving until release?

It’s a bluish, grayish, blackish color. It gives the perception of changing to complement the body color.

What are you driving until release?

Sapphire black with Amido interior. It wasn’t my first choice. I wanted Space Silver, but I would have had to wait and it would have been about $10000 more due to loss of incentives. I could t justify that just for color. My old one was Storm Bay, which is a great color.

What are you driving until release?

That’s a great question. I’m still concerned about the width of the Scout fitting in my driveway. It has walls that will make it very difficult to open the doors. The iX is already tight. I hope the production model hits a little trimming here and there. If that doesn’t work out, I’m...

What are you driving until release?

I just got another BMW iX to take advantage of remaining incentives before they expire. I got one that was already in the US prior to BMW’s tariff related price increase. I would have kept my old one, but the total deal was just too good to pass up.

    Spare tire discussion

My company sells trailers as part of our product offerings. Trailer tires suck for the most part. The quality is not consistent at all. I am pretty sure every trailer tire I have seen in the last 10 years is off brand Chinese. In addition, people tend to not check air pressure and overload...

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

I’m sure it is just software, but my bmw will not allow the car to move with the cord plugged in. So, as it stands, I couldn’t pull this trailer and charge at the same time. Interesting idea anyway!

    Size comparison

That’s close. It is still my biggest concern and the most likely reason that I will not get a new Scout. I am really hoping for a little trimming down, especially the width.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Mine would follow the wrong lane lanes, phantom brake all the time, trash cans on the side of the road would make it emergency brakes, mottled light and shadowed through trees would make it brake, the obstruction warning was not consistent (if a vehicles turned in front of me, even very far...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

I used to have Teslas and I agree that autopilot was dangerous. Many other many do level 2 better in my opinion.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I previously owned two Tesla Model 3s and now a BMW iX. I have a similar daily commute. Mine is about 46 miles for work and usually run around a bit in the evening with kid stuff. I have level 2 charging at work and almost never charge at home. You should not have any issues at all keeping...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Electric vehicles (EVs) utilize several different charging port styles, categorized primarily by AC and DC charging and then by regional or manufacturer-specific standards. The main types are J1772 (AC), CCS (AC/DC), CHAdeMO (DC), and NACS (Tesla). AC Charging Ports: J1772: . This is the...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I will try to find an old post I made showing all the different types of ports. For people that are new to EV, all of the ports, plugs, adapters, and nomenclature can be very confusing.
