  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Higher Range

I have the same opinion - I would much rather have the stated range (~350 miles for full BEV) and the announced price (starting below $60K). I don't want the price pushed up to or above $80K just to provide 50-100 miles of extra battery that I don't need. I have a BEV with a maximum range of...

Taking bets on the new color of the Traveler Concept to be seen soon...

That is just about the whole color spectrum. They already did blue on the Terra, so I guess this means it will be a white/grey/black.

Solid-state batteries for EVs at least 10 years away

In an InsideEVs article about upcoming EVs with solid-state batteries, I thought this quote was telling. So even with all the latest hype, we are still at least 10 years away from seeing solid-state batteries for EVs become mainstream.

    Plaid Trim Option

I am adding this to the suggestion box so we can get some up-votes and hopefully get Scout to offer this. Scout should offer a "Plaid trim package" that is just an interior option for the seats and some of the interior cloth panels. I am not suggesting the entire seat should be plaid. I am...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Since you are looking for feedback, here is my opinion on the exterior changes (and the truck in general): The new color is great, and I like that you are not going with white/grey/black. I hope these colors are available when the Scouts go up for sale. I am not a fan of the 37-inch tires, but...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

You need to start a thread in the Suggestion Box with this so I can up-vote this suggestion. Of all the trim options I have seen (in real life and suggested) this has to be one of the top three I have seen.

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Since these are show mules and not final production vehicles, what would be the point in changes to the suspension and linkages? What they have on these is not what is going on the production vehicles, so anything on the under-belly is mule specific.

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

Isn't the charging port of the Ford F150 Lightening just in front of the driver's door? Where are they going to plug into that can charge the truck while driving? Adding another charging port in the bed of the truck (the only place I can see having a generator) doesn't seem like a "plug-in"...

    Big Community Event?

You mean like the International Harvester Scout & All Truck Nationals? The 35th Anniversary Show is June 12-14, 2026, in Springfield Ohio (http://www.midnitestar.org/). Scout Motors was there in 2025 with both concepts, from the flier it looks like they will be back again next year. I doubt...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

The picture of the solar collection system in that article looks like the one proposed by Gosun (https://gosun.co/products/ev-solar-charger), but the vendor is not mentioned in the article. Is there another company that is doing something similar?

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I hope everyone in your truck was unharmed. I have had a similar encounter with a kamikaze deer and it was not fun. The worst part for me was having the airbags go off at 35MPH and then having to drive to a safe stop. Hopefully you were going slow enough that you did not experience that.

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

My Hyundai Ioniq 5 mid-level trim also has the chime/notice when traffic in front of the car starts moving. I don't think it does anything when a traffic light turns green, I'll have to check the manual to see if there is a setting for that.

I have the same though. is he saying "cruel" or "far off"? Not knowing makes this even more fun! For the Traveler, I guess black or a very dark grey. For the Terra, I guess a shade of red.
