  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Terra tailgate storage

I love getting storage anywhere I can. If it's easy and doesn't over complicate the tailgate I'm for it.

    Suspension Speculation

If I can fit 35"s, have 12" clearance and 3' water fording. I am in the boat where honestly I probably won't change from the stock suspension. So although I understand not putting in lots of money where many people will likely upgrade, I very much appreciate the thought going into us stock...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

Nice shots. I wonder if that tension strap in the door is replacable. I hate that my Wrangler's mesh pockets are all stretched out and there's no thought whatsoever in how to replace them. Eventually I'll just rip them out and replace with aftermarket.

Jerry Cans + Harvester Range Extender

I think to really appeal to the mass it's gunna need to do more than what a basic generator can do. Like precondition the battery pack in cold weather. Also saving the space and manual labor of hauling around a big generator is a major plus too.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Would be nice to have a case recommendation list. Like I know my current case really hinders wireless charging. Or even partner with one for branded cases and make some extra money on the accessory purchsse.

    Base Model option lockout avoidance.

From the announcement it sounds like the factory is being built with agility in mind. Short of a customized ordering experience. I hope in addition to ordering packages to simplify commonly bundled addons together you can purchase each addon ala cart. Just forcing a bundle when technically...

Option for a Rugged/Waterproof Interior Trim

Good catch and good point. Hear me out SM team, lol. What if the screen was detachable. Connected with strong magnets and some kind of pogo pin connector for the data link. Disconnecting will enable thorough cleaning, and maybe while parked you can take it off and handle it better for...

    Sliding Glass Pano Roof?

That's one of my biggest reservations. Is losing my open air feeling of my Wrangler. It may be possible to get the Cabana top on the Terra, but I was looking at getting a hard top Gladiator for my next purchase. I have a soft top now and it doesn't make for very good insulation or road noise...

Any talk of crab crawl mode ?

Right I already know I'm going to get an off-road package and winter package. Assuming they're add ons. I really don't want a bloated or costly base package. Final cost is still a major factor for ultimately making the purchase.

I debated whether or not to post this

There's a guy on YouTube Casey something and he had these on a Jeep Cherokee for a bit. I think he came out later saying it was not practical and he only had them for so long because they got a lot if views when he used them. Oh he records his towing calls, and his views pays for the rescue for...

Option for a Rugged/Waterproof Interior Trim

Do'h OK forum masters, deduct 10xp from my account for not reading all the way through. I saw it mentioned a couple times then when straight to the bottom. Hmm, OK I get the concept now. Here's my take on it. I think Ford's solution is hideous. I'd pay to not have it, or seriously not buy the...

    Remote Features

I agree this stuff should be standard on any modern car let alone one as future driven as an EV. I'd hope there's some 2-3 year subscription service with the purchase of the vehicle. And I know hosting the services isn't free so I'm fine with a subscription, but please it should be to just...

DC Input for Portable Solar Panels

I'm curious on what the energy amount could be on a summer day. Is it worth it? Or are we talking about 1-2 miles a day? If that's the case I'd probably opt to save the extra costs associated with it. Upvoting to give it some thought.

    TAKE YOUR TOP OFF

I agree that it's too late for this model and too big most likely. But upvoting anyways for future designs.

Terra- Remove LED trim light on Tailgate

I like the wrap through tail lights too. But maybe option in like the infotainment to enable or disable the tailgate part if the lights?

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

As far as design of vehicles as a whole. It's a great start. I showed my wife a picture of the Terra, wide shot from the side, and her response was "Looks like a truck my grandpa had on the farm." It definitely hits the old school look and feel, but has a modern edge to it. And I mean edge in...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Sounds like a useful cold weather package item to me. With warming headlights.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Interesting, I know I was looking at some headlights for my Wrangler. And have been looking at this LED pair that have built in heater coils, was wondering if the snow build up was a real issue or not.

Any talk of crab crawl mode ?

I think that's only possible when each wheel has it's own motor. These vehicles have two, one in front one in rear. I'm not sure if a solid axle would hinder this our not, but having the rear wheels steer to a degree at low speeds may be really useful.
