  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

Hate it and don't see the point. Can the Bronco drive around with the swing gate open with a tire on it? I doubt it.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Is that IH Terra Cotta or just orange?

    Rivian R2

My 2014 Cadillac ELR has regen paddles (may have been the first). Is that what Hyundai/KIA have? I LOVE the steering wheel paddles. I hardly use the brake pedal at all. It will do one pedal driving also but I don't like it - sometimes I want to coast. I think the regen level when off the...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Nevermind, just saw it in the other thread - SUV first.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

The article also said the pickup would be first, followed by SUV 6 months later. Is that wrong also? I had it in my head the other way around.

    Scout Design Ideas

I want it to be the size of a Scout II, no bigger than the Traveller for a 4 door.

Not sure about the all electric I prefer gasoline

    1) Those are Teslas and were probably not designed to ford water of any depth 2) Anything flooded with seawater is a total loss. If your insurance company tries to tell you it's 'fine', get a lawyer or sell it immediately. Even if your new Scout is designed to ford streams, DO NOT drive it in...

    Carscoops

THAT is yuck. It looks generic because it is. Anything without a removeable roof is going to look like a generic SUV. There are many, many choices for SUVs. I want a 4x4 and that means a removable roof. It looks like a GM product because of all the black plastic. The less black plastic the...

Not sure about the all electric I prefer gasoline

I get it but the ship has sailed, the train has left the station, the bird has flown and the toothpaste is out of the tube. The new Scout is going to be electric whether you’re sold on it or not. If you want a gas powered Scout, buy one. If you want a new gas powered Scout, the best you can do...

    Is EV demand really tanking?

I agree 100% that with the current infrastructure, a PHEV makes more sense. I’ve had one for almost 10 years. About 85% of my 70,000+ miles have been all electric with no range worry. Road trips require no additional planning to figure out where to charge and no wasted time waiting to charge...

What would Jamie and Chris like to see in a Launch Edition?

I definitely want a new Scout but whether I go for the "launch edition" or not will entirely depend on whether it is the Scout I want at a value I can live with. What I really want is analogous to the Bronco Heritage edition which wasn't available at launch. I like where J Alynn is going with...

What would Jamie and Chris like to see in a Launch Edition?

Yes to launch/first edition. Yes, it should be high end because that will be everyone’s first impression and it should be “choice”. Yes to massive discount for forum members

I want this glass in the new Scout

Especially the windshield- Stronger, lighter and optically superior to gorilla glass https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/corning-fusion5-glass-is-stronger-lighter-and-good-for-electric-and-autonomous-cars/?lid=y10gp367rka6&eml=organic%3Aeml%3Abrz2&utm_source=braze&utm_medium=emaileditorial

    Solid-State Battery

It would be nice but I doubt it. It would be an incredible risk to design the vehicle for a power source that does not yet exist in a practical, mass produceable way. I do hope that the design is future proofed in a way that would allow whatever battery pack is used to be relatively easily...

Some dealers were good and some were greedy SOBs. Nobody with a reservation should have had to pay over MSRP.
